Hello berries
I found this name and was wondering if there was any bad association with it.
I canât think of any! I think of the flower
I think it is so rare there are no associations with it? I like it.
The flower association is strong, but overall itâs a pretty name
This isnât a bad association. But in child development theory there is a phenomenon called the [name_u]Dandelion[/name_u] child vs the [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] child. Basically, [name_u]Dandelion[/name_u] children are the ones who can grow up in any environment, even the worst of them, and still thrive. [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] children need a precise amount of âwaterâ and âsunlightâ in order to thrive. Water and sunlight can mean attention, affection, encouragement, etc.
This isnât a well-known theory. However, itâs what I think of when I hear/see the word orchid.
Orchid is such an underrated flower name I have it on my list as a middle
I pair it with [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], so happy that someone else itâs mentioning it
I donât think thereâs any strong negative associations with it, but when said out loud I canât help think of the word âorcaâ which isnât a terrible association but could lead to teasing
I love the flower! [name_f]My[/name_f] problem is that with my non rhotic (donât pronounce the r) pronunciation, it sounds a bit like âawkwardâ not a lot but enough that I wouldnât personally choose it.
I wouldnt say negative, but I suppose Dr [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] (from the game Cluedo) does come to mind!
I think its a very pretty name, definitely an underrated flower.
In my country itâs the equivalent of âAlwaysâ, the sanitary pad company (same company, different name), but I donât think that would be an issue for you.
I only think of the flower
Orchid is sweet and fresh
I like it! The only association Iâm aware of is the flower.
In medical terms, orchid refers to testicles.
Well in my language itâs the word for testicles.
I agree with the previous two posters⌠âOrchidectomyâ means removal of the testicles. Thatâs the only negative association I know of regarding [name_f]Orchid[/name_f].
This is what I foundâŚ
Etymology : The origin of the word Orchid . The name comes from the Ancient Greek á˝ĎĎÎšĎ (Ăłrkhis), literally meaning âtesticleâ, because of the shape of the root. ⌠Orchid was introduced in 1845 by [name_m]John[/name_m] Lindley in School Botany, due to an incorrect attempt to extract the Latin stem (orchis) from Orchidaceae
I canât think of any either? [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] is lovelyâshe used to be my middle name for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
I think itâs nice!
