Looking for thoughts on my latest name crush: [name]Oriana[/name]! [name]How[/name] would you pronounce it on reading it?
Full name would be a mouthful due to naming traditions (but I think that will be true regardless of first name!): [name]Oriana[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Fairchild[/name]-Linley but I’m not sure if that bothers me…
Thanks, [name]Beryl[/name]
Also considering [name]Anna[/name], [name]Coral[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Philippa[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name], [name]Helen[/name], [name]Christine[/name], [name]Etta[/name], [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Laura[/name].
I say or-ee-[name]AH[/name]-nah, too. It’s sweet and pretty, definitely interesting, although I prefer [name]Ariana[/name] personally.
I also love [name]Anna[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Eva[/name], and [name]Jane[/name] from your list. I think [name]Cora[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Fairchild[/name]-Linley would be lovely, too. Most people would just hear the FN with the double-barrel surname, so I think something short and sweet and to the point works best. I think [name]Anna[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Eva[/name], and [name]Jane[/name] (and [name]Coral[/name]/[name]Cora[/name]) are more succinct, but [name]Oriana[/name] is very pretty.
I like it, I would pronounce it like the others said. [name]One[/name] of the names on my list is Oranna nn [name]Ora[/name]. I knew a wonderful lady (she was 96) named [name]Ora[/name] when I was little, so that name has a special place in my heart
I like [name]Oriana[/name]! I say or-ee-[name]AH[/name]-nah too. It was on my list but my son’s name start’s with Or so we nixed it. Pretty name combined with the two middle and last names.
Pretty. When i was younger i played a game all the time called “tales of the crystal” with my best friend. It was a game that required the players to listen to a tape which told you a story and a task to acomplish. The entire game was based on using your imagination and the main charater of the game was [name]Oriana[/name]!
The main setting was “[name]Oriana[/name]'s Glend”. So to me the name is sweet, whimsical, fantasy like beauty, and symbolic of imagination. I like it a lot.
I don’t think the combo is too much at all. Its really lovely. [name]Oriana[/name] is one of my personal favorites. I say (ORE-ee-[name]AH[/name]-nah).
Thankyou everyone! That was a lot more positive than I was expecting. I’m glad you all pronounce it the same. [name]Oriana[/name] shall be going on the list then! I am surprised by the comments about the whole name not being too much. When I first posted I got loads of responses telling me that I was saddling my child with a mouthful of name. Nice to hear some positive comments about it so thank you!
