[name_m]Osiris[/name_m] we chose simply for cadence and mythological namesake.
[name_u]Mercury[/name_u] we chose for the nature, fluidity & fleet-footed connections - we went back and forth a bit on whether [name_u]Mercury[/name_u] was a great choice but after such a fast fluid labour it just felt right.
[name_u]James[/name_u] we chose to honour family at my husband’s request.
[name_m]Osiris[/name_m] joins big sisters Azula [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] & [name_f]Indira[/name_f] [name_f]Coral[/name_f] who are very excited to meet him later today.
[name_m]Osiris[/name_m] [name_u]Mercury[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is perfect! It was always my favorite to go with Azula and [name_f]Indira[/name_f]. I’m so thrilled for your beautiful family, and I wish you and your kiddos nothing but happiness. beautiful name.

We’re going to wait and see what happens naturally. I like [name_m]Oz[/name_m]/ozzie and [name_m]Cy[/name_m] or [name_u]Baby[/name_u] O… but who knows, the kids might dub him something even better.

The labour was ridiculously fast and (though obviously painful) pretty easy!
Post-labour at the hospital though was a bit of a gongshow - I was GBS+ but had no time for antibiotics so they had to monitor [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] pretty closely over night. And because I had such a fast delivery I bled a LOT and they were concerned about hemorrhaging so I had a oxytocin IV and they had to keep checking me… suffice to say we didn’t get much sleep the first night. But, they didn’t make us stay 48 hours & decided the risks of GBS infection are super low, and my bleeding slowed down substantially after the IV so we could leave after 24 hours. Now we are home again. The girls met their brother late tonight and were (Azula especially) ecstatic about the tiny baby. They sang him a lullaby before they went to bed. Nothing like a new baby to make the older ones look SO BIG. Can’t believe how grown-up they seem suddenly.

Sorry I missed the naming on this one, I kind of fell into that post-baby black-hole where you don’t get back to Nameberry months on end, and then miss all the good posts when you do manage to stumble in. But you came up with a combo that means a lot to you anyway, even without me, ha ha! Whoa about that sketchy first night. You look AMAZING in your Facebook photos, notwithstanding. Here’s to many more big-sister lullabies and good times with the intrepid crew.

Yeah it was pretty much chaos til about 4AM - nurses in and out within 5 minutes of baby falling asleep [name_f]EVERY[/name_f] time. He had his first bath at 6AMish and had a good nap after so we got a bit of sleep in the morning at least.
And thank you - I’m sure you can see how much blood I lost by how pale I am on that photo. I never got a very flattering picture when the girls were born so when contractions started at home I spent a few minutes ‘timing them’ aka slapping on makeup in the bathroom. Call me vain.
Ahhahahaha. You kill me. You should have heard me snorting at my computer screen over your “timing” contractions. My vanity has cumulated in not announcing births online until the second day, when I look a little better and have had a minute to dig out the mascara at the bottom of my hospital bag. You do look pale in the pic but I thought it was an Instagram filter thing. [name_m]Just[/name_m] go with it, it looks good.
Yeah, the “quiet” thing is actually code for I HAVE SIX KIDS AND IT’S SO [name_f]BUSY[/name_f] AHHHHHH. My first three were spaced further apart, so I’m in shock over the intensity of a 4, 2, and 6 mo. in combination. You are in for a good time, bwahaha! Plus, our schedule since [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] was born was been insane. I’m talking holiday and/or family events and/or company almost literally every two weeks, from when she was a week old until the beginning of this month. So I’m only just NOW finding a second to breathe. I kept meaning to come track you down, but in between the madness of real life and the whole Nameberry-forum-lockout-meltdown thing, it just didn’t happen. (I STILL can’t access my lists and subscriptions, so my e-mail is buried in notifications for names I was considering a year ago.) I knew you were on a good track when I saw [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] appear in your signature for final list. Makes so much sense for your set and it doesn’t repeat any initials or major sounds, like [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] would have had that Z going again. Naming applause, great trio.
