Other than "Penelope", what else could "Penny" be short for?

Also general opinions on the name are welcome  I always imagined it as a sort of old lady name but it’s really growing on me as a sweet, sunny name.

I love [name]Penny[/name], and only realized it was a nn for [name]Penelope[/name] a few weeks ago. I didn’t care for [name]Penelope[/name] before that, but now I totally get the appeal. It is quite trendy, so I understand wanting to find something different for the birth certificate.

A quick search for girl’s names containing [name]PEN[/name] on super search yields:
[name]Aspen[/name]
[name]Peneli[/name]
[name]Penina[/name]
[name]Peniel[/name]
[name]Penine[/name]
[name]Penrose[/name]
[name]Peninit[/name]
Pensee (accent over the first e)
[name]Spencer[/name]

I kind of like [name]Penina[/name]/[name]Peninah[/name] and [name]Penrose[/name]

Thank you! [name]Penrose[/name] is lovely, I’ll probably opt for that

No problem! [name]Penrose[/name] was my favorite, too. And I was just thinking [name]Aspen[/name] and [name]Spencer[/name] (though I usually don’t care for those names, especially on girls) would be unique, creative ways to get to [name]Penny[/name].

The first thing I thought of was [name]Persephone[/name], although I’m not sure how wearable that is in real life.

Pennyroyal
Pensée
Penthesileia
Penza
Perenna

Penthesileia is my favourite, but I have [name]Penrose[/name] on my list as well, she’s beautiful!
Pennyroyal is a moutful, but the flowers are gorgeous and it’s so spunky and sweet, I had to include it

I was going to offer [name]Penina[/name] and [name]Penrose[/name] but someone beat me to it! :stuck_out_tongue: I love both those names to get to nn [name]Penn[/name], not [name]Penny[/name] (NMS). [name]Both[/name] are big favorites. There’s [name]Penley[/name], too.

Thanks everyone! Pensée, Penza and [name]Penina[/name] are adorable too

[name]Penrose[/name] makes me think of Pendragon… [name]King[/name] Arthurs last name.

I love [name]Penny[/name]! But i don’t like any of the longer names. Maybe [name]Penny[/name] could be the cool middle name she goes by? Or maybe a double barrel name?

[name]Penny[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Penny[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Penny[/name]
[name]Penny[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Penny[/name] [name]Lily[/name]

We decided on [name]Penny[/name]-[name]June[/name] [name]Penny[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] is lovely too though. Thank you everyone!

[name]Penny[/name]-[name]June[/name] is beautiful! Congtats!!

Thank you! [name]Just[/name] reconsidering the name [name]Penrose[/name]… It’s a very harsh name, probably because there needs to be some seperation between the two syllables? Maybe Penarose or something? Penirose?
