Otto or Otis?

Hi everyone!

I go back and forth over whether I prefer Otto or Otis.

Which do you prefer, and why?

As an added bonus- which pairs better with all time favourite boys name Rufus? How about fave girl names Saskia and Delilah?

Thanks so much

I like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] the best in general but also with the other names I like that [name_m]Otto[/name_m] and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] end in different sound, even though both the girl names end in a similar sound the difference between ia and ah is different enough that [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], [name_f]Saskia[/name_f], & [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] flows well and sounds nicely together

  1. i prefer otto. it looks nice and complete, plus it’s a palindrome, and it actually flows with my surname. otis i like, it’s just that i very heavily associate it with oats and otis amber from the westing game (not necessarily bad associations, just very strong ones).
  2. i think otto goes best with rufus–they’re quite stylistically similar, and i love how rounded they look on paper (otto because it’s a palindrome, rufus because of the consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel-consonant pattern and the repeating u)
  3. i like otto and saskia and otis and delilah!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] both but the gentle [name_m]Otto[/name_m] wins for me and I like it best with [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]

I love both so it’s a tough choice. [name_m]Otto[/name_m] is actually my nephew’s name so I have a real soft spot for it, plus I think it goes wonderfully with [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]. They both have that quirky cool element that similar type names like [name_u]Rex[/name_u], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] and, well, [name_m]Otis[/name_m] have.

I probably prefer [name_m]Otis[/name_m] ultimately, perhaps because it feels a little shinier to me on account of not knowing anyone with the name. It suits [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] stylistically but I don’t love the matching endings, although it’s not necessarily enough of an issue that they couldn’t be paired together.

And both sound fantastic with [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

Really, you couldn’t go wrong with either!

I much prefer [name_m]Otis[/name_m].

But [name_m]Otto[/name_m] goes better with [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], I actually know of brothers with these names and it works well.

I think [name_m]Otis[/name_m] goes better with both [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

I like both equally, but I think [name_m]Otto[/name_m] fits better with the names you mentioned.

i prefer otis! i think both go well with rufus, but maybe otto goes a little better

I like [name_m]Otto[/name_m] with [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] better! And I think both go with [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]!

Prefer [name_m]Otto[/name_m]

[name_m]Otto[/name_m] with [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] and [name_f]Saskia[/name_f]

[name_m]Otis[/name_m] with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference is [name_m]Otis[/name_m] (one of my favorite short handsome boys’ names.)

I love all these names except [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].

I prefer [name_m]Otto[/name_m] with [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] because they sound less rhymey.

I like [name_m]Otis[/name_m] more but I have nothing against [name_m]Otto[/name_m]
