I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m]!

[name_m]David[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are my favorites! I also love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] but not with LN [name_m]Benn[/name_m].

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] best! Both are classic and underused today! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are nice too, but very popular right now.

My favorites are [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Roger[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m].

[name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] are all great grandpa choices. I also have a soft spot for [name_m]Roger[/name_m], it doesn’t seem to get a lot of love these days but I really like it.

I don’t really think of [name_m]David[/name_m], [name_m]Simon[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as old man names. They are fine, but I like the other names better.

I actually voted for [name_m]Walter[/name_m] but thinking about it now, my pick would be [name_m]Roger[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u].

Good luck!

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] are all names I happen to have a soft spot for myself, so my vote had to go to them! I think they all go well with the middles and your last name, although I find the [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] combos have the best flow.
All of your names are very handsome though, you really can’t go wrong!

I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u], second [name_m]Walter[/name_m], third would be [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] & [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are probably the ones that would generally work best for a modern child (my votes went to these two). Both are already fairly common these days for new babies and thus wouldn’t necessarily be deemed too heavy, clunky or ‘old man’. These two, particularly [name_m]Henry[/name_m] I feel, are as you say “tailored, recognisable yet not too unusual, not overly heavy and suitable for all stages of life.”

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is my favourite of those remaining, and does have a slightly heavier sound and feel to it. It is also quite popular in quite a few other countries (within the top 10 in [name_f]England[/name_f], Belgium & [name_f]France[/name_f]) so that helps bring it further into this century. I enjoy the Arthurian legend association with this name. This would also fit what you’re after I think, though I think it also may depend on where you live, and how often it’s been used there in recent years.

[name_m]David[/name_m] & [name_m]Simon[/name_m] do feel dated, though in a very different way to me. There is a nice quirkiness to many ‘old man’ names as they feel quite fresh having not been used in quite some time. [name_m]David[/name_m] & [name_m]Simon[/name_m], however, still feel so ubiquitous to me ([name_m]David[/name_m] in particular) that they just don’t have that same spunk and still feel rather tired and lacklustre.

[name_m]Eugene[/name_m] & [name_m]Roger[/name_m] both feel extremely clunky and heavy and unless you’re using them in direct honour of a family member, I do feel they’re a little too heavy for a modern child. I’m afraid I just cannot imagine a sweet, tiny baby named either [name_m]Roger[/name_m] or [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]…

I really like all of your options, but my favorites are [name_m]Eugene[/name_m], [name_m]Roger[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] are lovely names, but they are so popular they’re getting a bit boring.

My favorites are [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] (in that order)! All very sweet sounding, familiar yet not too overly used. I would note that [name_m]Henry[/name_m] seems to be getting quite popular at US #16, and is also gaining usage [name_m]Leo[/name_m] at #50. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Walter[/name_m] are much less common. However, none of these names are super duper popular, so I would go with whichever you love the most!

In order from my favorite to least favorite:
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Roger[/name_m]
[name_m]Walter[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]David[/name_m]
[name_m]Eugene[/name_m]

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] admittedly doesn’t feel “old man” to me.

I like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] best. I also voted for [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but it’s no longer got a grandpa vibe.

[name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
[name_m]Irving[/name_m]
[name_u]Vernon[/name_u]
[name_u]Roy[/name_u]
[name_m]Marcus[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]

Only one I don’t love is [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]. I don’t know if it’s ready to leave the attic quite yet lol!

I love [name_m]Simon[/name_m] with your middle/last name combo (although I don’t particularly think of [name_m]Simon[/name_m] as being an old man name and it’s definitely not on the same level as [name_m]Walter[/name_m] or [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]). My next choices, in order, would be [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

[name_m]Walter[/name_m] is my favorite, followed by [name_m]Simon[/name_m], particularly if you really want a name that reads as old-mannish.

I love both [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m], but they’ve gotten so popular that I don’t think they really convey an old-man vibe anymore. They both sound like little-boy names to me. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is also quickly heading this direction. [name_m]David[/name_m] is fine, but I think it’s completely timeless.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] [name_m]Benn[/name_m] is easily my favourite for how well it flows, and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] would be second. Both of those names would work well for a 21st century baby, as I feel would [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]David[/name_m]. I think I would personally see [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as more a modern than an old man name, but that’s probably because I’ve only known children with the name. [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Eugene[/name_m], [name_m]Roger[/name_m] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] would struggle, I feel, in my own circle. Maybe a little too old-fashioned for me. But it totally depends, they would possibly work very well in your circle.
