Our favourite names list as of now, opinions on the names would be appreciated:)
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]- We both love the name [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but none of the nicknames really appeal to us. [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is an exception however, but we can’t see how it’s a nickname for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is a family name, and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is another name we love but wouldn’t use as a first.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- Like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], we love [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], after [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. None of the nicknames we like however, I hate the thought of her being nicknamed [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] or [name_f]Tori[/name_f]. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is after the current [name_f]Queen[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] just finishes it of nicely.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adela[/name_f]- Not sure how we would pronounce this one, [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-Leen or [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Line[/name_f]. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a nickname we like and would be considered for a first if it wasn’t so common.[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] Pankhurst is who we would love to name her after. [name_f]Adela[/name_f] is lovely name but has no meaning, we just like it.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]- [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a name we have both liked forever. It’s so beautiful but due to the arrival of [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] a few years ago, we have been cautious to use it due to its popularity here in Britian! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] rolls of the tonuge really nicely too.
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- [name_f]Isla[/name_f] means Island, and I grew up on an Island so I love that.[name_f]Isla[/name_f] however is not a classic name. It’s quite trendy, I don’t want it to be associated with an age group as she grows up. If you understand? [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is also lovely.
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]- this is such a beautiful name! I love the grandeur of it and the flow! [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] comes from the name [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f] I believe, hence the nickname [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] but I’m not sure it’s very intuitive from [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
You might have already considered these but using the middle names too, [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Lousia could be [name_f]Laila[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_m]Adler[/name_m] or [name_f]Demi[/name_f]?
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- it’s a name that feels very sturdy and solid, pretty but not frilly. I’ve known two Victorias who’ve always gone by their fullname so nicknames might not be a problem. [name_f]Vita[/name_f], [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivie[/name_f] are others I’ve seen.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adela[/name_f]- [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adela[/name_f] is beautiful. I love the rhythm of the name
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but like you, I do worry about the popularity. For what it’s worth though, I have only met two in my time teaching kids. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is very pretty
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is stunning but you’re right, [name_f]Isla[/name_f] isn’t classic like your other choices. I think it’s up to you to decide where that’s a deal breaker or not. Alternatively I have seen [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] nn [name_f]Isla[/name_f] used before?
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]- Beautiful, sleek and timeless! I love this combo. Like the previous poster said, [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] comes from [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is too much of a stretch at all though! After all, if you can get [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] from [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] then I think you can get [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] from [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. This is my second favorite combo.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- This one isn’t bad or anything, it just feels like a bit of a safe choice. I know a lot of Victorias who go by [name_f]Tori[/name_f] so I don’t know if it’s possible to avoid having her be called that by classmates and friends, though she can be just [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] at home.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Adela[/name_f]- My favorite! I adore [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (prefer the -leen pronunciation), it’s incredibly sweet and underused. [name_f]Adela[/name_f] is bold and makes the combo even more interesting.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]- [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s too common for my tastes, though I do like nickname [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. The flow is good!
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is definitely lovely! Such a gentle and elegant name. However, I find [name_f]Isla[/name_f] very trendy and very tied to the 2010’s.
