Our first baby girl!

[name]Hi[/name] everyone! My husband and I are expecting our first child - a girl! We have a short list of names we have chosen, but we can’t seem to narrow it down to just one, so we thought we would get some outside opinions. Although we’re fairly set on these names, any suggestions that you think go with our “style” would be appreciated. Thank you!

Her middle name will either be [name]Marie[/name] or [name]Josephine[/name] (family names).

[name]Addalyn[/name]/[name]Adelaide[/name] - Of the two, [name]Adelaide[/name] is the stronger name. The [name]Addalyn[/name] spelling looks made up, so if you like this name go with the [name]Adeline[/name]. I love the name [name]Adelaide[/name] though ([name]Addalyn[/name]/[name]Adeline[/name] feels more trendy to me) and think [name]Addy[/name] is a very sweet nickname.

[name]Elodie[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this name. So sweet, pretty & uncommon. You can’t go wrong with [name]Elodie[/name].

[name]Finley[/name] - Not a huge fan of this for a girl. [name]Fin[/name] feels very masculine to me.

[name]Rowen[/name] - Another one I prefer for a boy.

[name]Tenley[/name] - I like the sound of this name but if feels made-up. I’ve seen it spelled Tennley before as well. It’s not as pretty or feminine as [name]Adelaide[/name] or [name]Elodie[/name].

So, I love [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name]. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] would be excellent choices. Some other names you might like:

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I”m still new at this ” but it sounds like your choices in names have a more unisex Irish/Scottish feel and [name]Elodie[/name] (which I love!) would classify as French.
Let”s see ” names that remind me of [name]Finley[/name], [name]Rowen[/name], [name]Tenley[/name] ”
Names that remind me of [name]Elodie[/name] ”
Lastly, I”m not too fond of the [name]Addalyn[/name] spelling just because it”s so unique it”s bound to be misspelled. I love [name]Adelaide[/name] and also the classic, vintage [name]Adeline[/name]!
[name]Hope[/name] that helps! Let us know what you and the hubby decide! :o)

love the suggestion of [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Marie[/name]…good luck (:

Have you decided on a name LeslieMarie?

[name]Elodie[/name]!!!

[name]Addalyn[/name]/[name]Adelaide[/name] - [name]Adelaide[/name] is pretty and a lovely name but [name]Addalyn[/name] seems very trindeigh if you know what I mean! I don’t like the name, and certainly not the spelling.
[name]Elodie[/name] - This is stunning, as is the Spanish [name]Elodia[/name]. I think [name]Elodie[/name]'s a little easier to pull of though and the nn [name]Elle[/name] is lovely.
[name]Finley[/name] - This is a boy’s name to me and I think it shoudl stay that way.
[name]Rowen[/name] - I love this, this is one of those unisex names I like on boys and girls, but mostly on girls. I’d spell it [name]Rowan[/name] though to avoid spelling issues.
[name]Tenley[/name] - This seems very very trendy to me. I assume you got it from the bachelor? [name]Just[/name] remeber lots of other people saw that show and will have little [name]Tenley[/name]'s this year, then your childs name will forever be tied to the 2009-2010 [name]Tenley[/name] trend, the same as all the little [name]Britney[/name]'s from 1999-2000 and all the little [name]Shirley[/name]'s (my grandmother included!) from 1937!!

[name]Marie[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] are both lovely middle names. My top choices in order would be:

  1. [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
  2. [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
  3. [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
  4. [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
  5. [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Marie[/name]

Best of luck!!

From your list, [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name] are my favorites. [name]Finley[/name] and [name]Rowen[/name] are also great, but I much prefer them as boys’ names. [name]Fiona[/name] or [name]Rowena[/name] for a girl would be stunning, though! To me, [name]Tenley[/name] and [name]Addalyn[/name] feel trendy - sorry! [name]Adela[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Adelia[/name], [name]Adelina[/name], and [name]Adeline[/name] are lovely, though… [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] would be my first choice, but [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Marie[/name] (but the repeating -ee sounds may or may not bother you…), [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], and [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Marie[/name] are also lovely…

Good luck!

Thank you for your help everyone! We have definitely narrowed it down to [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. However, we are having a nearly impossible time picking between them, so may not happen until we see her!

[name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - two gorgeous names

My personal preference would be [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] because I love the unusual and yet familiar sound of the feminine and pretty [name]Elodie[/name] paired with the classic, vintage charm of the energetic [name]Josephine[/name]. It’s perfect to me!

Honestly though, I don’t think you can go wrong with either name so I think you’re right to wait until you meet her!

Good luck!

I love [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name]!

I don’t care for the rest, they seem too masculine to me.

[name]Elodie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is fantastic!
