We found out yesterday that our top boy name pick, [name]Tristan[/name], was taken by someone in the family. We live in a very small town, same school district, etc. There is no way we can still use [name]Tristan[/name] and not have it be confusing in the future. Agh.
So we are starting over, and I am 38 weeks pregnant!
Thoughts on these names? We have a son named [name]Nolan[/name]. I love it. Not too popular, but yet common enough that it doesn’t confuse people.
[name]Micah[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Eli[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] - worried that it is too popular
[name]Easton[/name] [name]Jason[/name]
[name]Gabe[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Jason[/name]
I’m sorry that [name]Tristan[/name] is no longer an option for you. I love the name [name]Nolan[/name] and I think it will be easy to find another name that has similar qualities.
Off your list I like [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Micah[/name] the best. [name]Both[/name] are strong masculine names that are not to common but still feel familiar. [name]Gavin[/name] I think it too common (in the top 10 in places like nebraska). [name]Gabe[/name] is too nicknamey. [name]Isaac[/name] is nice, but is different style wise than [name]Nolan[/name]. [name]Easton[/name] works, but I dont like it was much as [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Micah[/name].
I love [name]Gabe[/name], [name]Micah[/name] and [name]Eli[/name]. I think [name]Nolan[/name] and [name]Gabe[/name] sound the best together (the one [name]Gabe[/name] I know has a brother named [name]Tristan[/name], actually!)
A few more suggestions:
[name]Tate[/name]
[name]Wyatt[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
Generally I’d say use it anyway, it’s not like they invented the name, but if the kids will be in the same school it probably will be confusing, especially if they also have the same last name. On the plus side, I actually like all of your new choices better than [name]Tristan[/name]. I also love [name]Nolan[/name]- you did a great job the first time around!
[name]Micah[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]- It’s very sweet sounding. I like it.
[name]Eli[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]- I like this as well. Very strong, but not too in-your-face.
[name]Gavin[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] - worried that it is too popular - [name]Gavin[/name] is #33, but [name]Isaac[/name] is #40. It’s not unreasonable to think that most Gabriels will respond to [name]Gabe[/name], and [name]Gabriel[/name] is #22. [name]Elijah[/name] is #21, [name]Eli[/name] is #90, [name]Elias[/name] is #158, and [name]Elian[/name] is #854, bringing the number of possible [name]Elis[/name] quite close to the top ten. [name]Micah[/name] is #118, but it’s incredibly close to the ever-present [name]Michael[/name]. So [name]Gavin[/name] really isn’t any more popular than most of the names on your list if you take into account the possibility of sound-alikes and nicknames. I do quite like it, but I’m not sure about the -n ending with [name]Nolan[/name]. It’s not that bad, though, just something to consider if you have it between this and another name with a different ending.
[name]Easton[/name] [name]Jason[/name]- I like this a lot! I would change it to [name]Easton[/name] [name]Samuel[/name], if possible, because the -ston -son thing is a little weird. It has the same problem with [name]Nolan[/name] as [name]Gavin[/name], but again, I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker, just something to consider.
[name]Gabe[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]- Unlike [name]Eli[/name], I really dislike this name on its own. [name]Gabriel[/name] is so gentle but strong to me, and [name]Gabe[/name] is just kind of eh. Probably my least favorite on the list.
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Jason[/name]- I like [name]Isaac[/name] a lot, and [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Jason[/name] has a great ring to it. One of the best with [name]Nolan[/name].
Oh no! I am sorry you have to find a new name so far along in the pregnancy! It looks like you’ve got lots of other great choices. I like [name]Eli[/name] best with [name]Nolan[/name]. I really like [name]Easton[/name] too (but it might be too close to [name]Nolan[/name]?) [name]Gavin[/name] doesn’t seem popular to me, but it does seem dated. All your other choices would be great too.
Maybe you would like [name]Zane[/name]? [name]Quinn[/name]? The unusual first letters make the name stand out, but the spelling and pronunciation are familiar.
I’m really sorry about hspprnrd t you! Everything happens for a reason maybe when you get birth to your son, you realize that he couldn’t be a [name]Tristan[/name].
But don’t bother, we are going to find a beautiful name for your baby, in fact some of the names in your list are really cute.
I love the names [name]Samuel[/name] or [name]Jason[/name] like middles, specially [name]Samuel[/name]. From your list I think that [name]Eli[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] is gorgeouse and it fit your first son’s name. I also like [name]Isaac[/name] [name]Jason[/name], because [name]Isaac[/name] is one of my favourite boy names, is stylish, classic and it fit a baby or an adult, but it doesen’t have the same style than [name]Nolan[/name].
If you like the name [name]Gavin[/name], just use it! [name]Don[/name]'t care about it popularity! For me it doesen’t sound extremly popular.
I think that [name]Micah[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] is awesome. I really love it, it is perfect, a combination of a beautiful and fresh name with a classic middle.
So from your list I would use: [name]Micah[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] or [name]Eli[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
