Overlooked initials: ASS

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

So, I’ve been recently toying around with middles names for one of my favourite names [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]. However, I’ve just realised that [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f] S______ spell ASS. Obviously I can’t just leave it like this.

I could add a second middle (ASJS), but would that bring it far enough away from ASS? Is it still too tease-able? If I give her two middle names, I’d have to add an extra middle to my other combo’s… which would be a pain (but fun!) :stuck_out_tongue:

Or should I just find a new middle name? Keeping in mind that I love the name [name_f]Selene[/name_f]/[name_f]Selena[/name_f] and works in with a little theme I have for potential sibling middle names…

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f] S_____
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Selena[/name_f] [name_m]Jago[/name_m] S______

What do you reckon?

Thanks!

Well, I wouldn’t use a name that spelt ASS but I guess the plan is to have children with a partner in the future? [name_f]Do[/name_f] correct me if I’m wrong!

But if so, you can always remember that your partner will likely have a surname beginning with something other than S. Let’s say it begins with G. So you could hyphenate your names G-S, or even just use the G. I wouldn’t throw it out or think that you have to have 2 middle names to use it until you know that S is definitely the only last initial that you can use!

I would keep [name_f]Selene[/name_f]/[name_f]Selena[/name_f] and find another first name.

I see a few solutions:

  1. Find a different middle name
  2. Hyphenate the surname
  3. If you took your partner’s surname or vice versa, make the “dropped” surname her middle name

What about
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]

If you love [name_f]Selena[/name_f], go with that name and drop [name_f]Astrid[/name_f].
[name_f]Selena[/name_f] is too pretty for a middle name

lena86 and jenni_lynn91, Ahahahaha, Thank you guys, but I’m not dropping [name_f]Astrid[/name_f].

southern.maple, thank you! I will highly consider them

gr19, thank you! I really like [name_f]Celene[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f]!

jackal, true, it’s in the future, so it’s too early to really worry about it now. But I’m someone who plans very last detail of their life for fun. I know it won’t work that way, but it’s like a hobby of mine - imagining different futures and all.
It’s just, the problem with the surname is that I haven’t quite figured out - if I do end up falling in love in the future - is who’s last name shall be taken? So their is still a chance it may be mine. But then again, they may have completely different tastes than me and need to scrap all my favourite names! Haha. Thanks Jackal!

I think having the initials “ASS” is a little much.

If the baby’s last name will start with “S”, I’d go with [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f]. If not, [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Selene[/name_f] is lovely!
