Oxen

This was the kid’s name that signed in before my son at the gym today. Oxen is the FIRST name…I’m sure. He’s one of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen but…I feel kinda bad for him. I was afraid that [name]Angus[/name] (one of my favorites) would conjure beef associations but I think Oxen has [name]Angus[/name] beat.

Thoughts?

Wow! [name]Angus[/name] is lovely and I definitely wouldn’t think of beef right off…but Oxen? It’s like naming your child Pig or Chicken.

It’s too bad, because it does have a nice strong sound; but when I hear it I picture an animal.

I heard of someone giving their child Bull for a mn recently. This was a family name for them. But oxen…wow.

[name]Owen[/name] written in bad handwritting I hope???

Sorry not a fan of either. Food connections not good in names:)

  1. I really hope that boysmom2 is right, and that it is actually [name]Owen[/name] in bad handwriting!!

2)…or maybe it is an overly creative spelling of the name [name]Ocean[/name]? I don’t know which is worse: To be named Oxen, or to be named [name]Ocean[/name] and have it spelled Oxen!! (the first.)

Oxen is awesome-the sound of it. But, yeah, the association is awful.

[name]Ox[/name] is a frat-boy nickname. Why would you name your kid that? Poor child…

Definitely wasn’t [name]Owen[/name]. I saw it written (along with the last name)… twice. AND it was monogrammed on his diaper bag. He looked somewhat [name]Asian[/name]. Maybe there is a connection to culture?

As in the plural of ox? The cow like animal? [name]How[/name] awful! Some parents are just cruel…

[name]Ollie[/name]-ollie-oxen-free!

Poor child I hope he doesn’t suffer because of his parent’s stupidity.

Terrible. [name]Just[/name] terrible!
