[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] has been on my list for a while, moving between a maybe, a definite, a possible, a maybe not, but now it’s back and I’m loving it!
So, a few questions (as ever, feel free to only answer the ones you wish to!):
How do you pronounce [name_m]Ozias[/name_m]? I’ve seen it pronounced in several different ways and I’m interested to see which is more intuitive or popular!
What middle name would you pair with it?
Would your suggestion change if it was to be pronounced ‘Oh-zye-us’ (zye rhyming with eye)
What middle name would you pair with it that has the same vibe as ‘Ozias Midwinter’? This is the name of a character in [name_u]Wilkie[/name_u] Collins’s novel Armadale and I think it’s one of the reasons I find [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] hard to pair, because [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Midwinter is so magical and hard to compete with!
I’d pair it with something more traditional like [name_u]William[/name_u], [name_u]Daniel[/name_u], [name_u]John[/name_u], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] etc
does not apply to me since that’s already how I pronounce it
this one I’m not sure about as I’m not super familiar with that style of names, sorry!
And for what it’s worth, I think [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] is really cool!
@fiddlesticks [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] is very cool and I love [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Carnelian[/name_m] - very magical. Thank you
@VEL [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is charming and I’m loving [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Mariner[/name_u], [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] and [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Evergreen!! Thank you
@LittleKingTrashMouth Thank you!! I think a more traditional name is what I’d lean towards too if it wasn’t for the character! [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] is nice - maybe thinking [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u], [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]?
@marysia thank you!! [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Basil[/name_u] and [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Carnelian[/name_m] are wonderful! The capital O wasn’t emphasis (I’m bad at guessing which syllables are emphasised )
Hmmm I’d probably go with [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Somerled[/name_m], [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Windermere, or maybe [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Merivel[/name_m].
I wouldn’t change it as that’s already how I pronounce it.
Oh my, [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Midwinter is magical, absolutely adore this. I like the previous suggestion of [name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Evergreen[/name_u], but I’d also like so throw out:
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Albright
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Hartwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Hollyhock
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Snow[/name_u]
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Alban[/name_m]
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Frost[/name_u] (but I admit to being obviously very biased towards this one )
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_u]Penrose[/name_u]
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Balthazar[/name_m]
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Warden[/name_m]
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] [name_m]Rook[/name_m]
[name_m]Ozias[/name_m] Pandaren
The audiobook I was listening to had multiple narrators and some pronounced it as oz-ee-us/aw-zee-us so I’m guessing it can be
