Ozzy for a girl?

I recently saw the name [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] used for a girl. I love the name, but I’m not sure about it as a girls name. What are your thoughts on [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] for a girl? I was also trying to think of names [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] could be short for, but I couldn’t seem to think of anything. Are there any girls names it could be short for?

I think [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] for a girl is so cute!
Some names it could be short for are [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] (or any other initials of [name_m]Oz[/name_m]) or any O name in general! I’ll suggest a few more O names that are maybe more uncommon so you can get away with a fun nickname!

I really like [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] for a boy, but I do think it could be super cute for a girl, too!

I like it as a nickname for a girl- I think @sophia_elena gave a lot of great suggestions for full names! I don’t have any more to add.

I love love love love it!! As a rock/metal fan, I would assume her parent is also a fan. I’d be a little disappointed if they’re not, but I wouldn’t think negatively of the whole thing.

I think a full name with the nn Ozzy is a good idea… Perhaps an O first name and Z middle name? I love the nn Ozzy for a boy, so I’ve played around with that possibility. I think it’s adorable on a girl too tho!! (but I’m a also a fan of “boy” names on girls and unisex names on girls)

Ozzy reads all-boy for me and while it’s doable, I prefer names that in general, indicate male or female, thinking for example, responding to a phone message, a married couple, etc., where it is somewhat clear if the person is male or female. I know a married husband and wife where they both have traditionally male names and people that don’t know them have been known to expect that they are two males. Not a dealbreaker, just a consideration. Many nicknames are used exclusively so others don’t readily know the given name.

There’s so many ppl that name their girls [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] ([name_f]Isabel[/name_f], etc)… so why not [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m]?
