"P" names

What are your favorite “P” names? I’m leading towards [name]Patience[/name] right now…

I think [name]Prudence[/name] is cute. The nn [name]Pru[/name] is nice also.

I am such a weirdo - I think my favorite P name for a girl is [name]Patricia[/name]. I also like [name]Paloma[/name]. However, I see nothing at all wrong with [name]Pamela[/name]! I also knew a cool young woman named [name]Phyllis[/name], and that I realized how it’s a really great name. [name]Pearl[/name] is really growing on me - I didn’t like that my birthstone was the pearl, so that’s why I didn’t like this name for so long, but it’s def cute.

I tried to look up P names to see if any that I’ve forgotten, but it started to take too long. I always find new names or remember old names that way, so I can’t count on just the ones I said to be my favorites, why I said a few. I feel like there’s something so obvious that would blow these away. Can’t decide.

[name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]!

[name]Karen[/name], I think you’re the only person I’ve come across who likes this! It’s my grandmother’s name, and while I’d love to honour her, I can’t get my head around it. Who knows, when I’m ready to have kids in a couple of years, I may have started to like it too.

My favourite P name is [name]Penelope[/name] nn [name]Poppy[/name] (or even [name]Poppy[/name] on its own) but these could also work:
[name]Paige[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Paisley[/name]
[name]Pandora[/name]
[name]Posey[/name]
[name]Parker[/name]
[name]Pansy[/name]
[name]Paulina[/name]
[name]Paola[/name]
[name]Paris[/name]
[name]Pascale[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Petra[/name]
[name]Peony[/name] (love!)
[name]Perdita[/name]
[name]Peyton[/name]
[name]Philippa[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name]
[name]Piera[/name]
[name]Polly[/name] (love as a fresher [name]Molly[/name] or [name]Millie[/name] type name)
[name]Presley[/name]
[name]Prue[/name]

Good luck!

[name]Penelope[/name]/[name]Pen[/name] and [name]Poppy[/name] without a doubt:)

I love [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], and [name]Pearl[/name].

Good luck!

[name]Karen[/name], I think you’re the only person I’ve come across who likes this! It’s my grandmother’s name, and while I’d love to honour her, I can’t get my head around it. Who knows, when I’m ready to have kids in a couple of years, I may have started to like it too.[/quote]

I know it has an “old” feel to it, and I didn’t know this young [name]Phyllis[/name] very well but she seemed smart and generally easy-going and cool - not “I’m so cool” cool. I haven’t known any or many old Phyllises to really give me an association - it’s just a pretty Greek botanical name (“green bough”). I had known a young [name]Gladys[/name] in grade school, but I didn’t get a good impression off of her or her family, so [name]Gladys[/name] is still a no for me. I’ve liked [name]Doris[/name] for a while, but I probably wouldn’t like [name]Phyllis[/name] so much or consider it worthy of revival if I hadn’t met one, it’s just easy to say and to like, you never think ‘gah, how did this nice girl end up with such an awful name?’

Seems “sounds” go in and out of style, and people just don’t like ISS - well, we all seemed to like [name]Maris[/name] in that other thread…Unrelated in origin and meaning, people seem to prefer [name]Felicia[/name] or [name]Felicity[/name] and also [name]Felix[/name] - so they sort of sneak that [name]Phyllis[/name] sound in there, it must sort of be attractive in their ears without them realizing it. I think [name]Phyllis[/name] might have also influenced me to reconsider [name]Phillip[/name], a(nother unrelated) name about which I used to feel ambivalent/slightly negative. I don’t understand [name]Philippa[/name] thought, I think [name]Phyllis[/name] sounds nicer (you just don’t get the “[name]Pippa[/name]” nickname). So try it out again in a couple years - you may like it a lot better.

Also, a couple names I did miss were [name]Petra[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name].

My favorite is Pomeline!

[name]Patricia[/name]
[name]Priscilla[/name] (I’ve always liked this name since I was a little girl, but don’t like how she would get made fun of with “prissy”)
[name]Persephone[/name]

My favourite is [name]Patricia[/name] but I also love [name]Poppy[/name]. I always name my birds ‘P’ names, I had two chickens [name]Penny[/name] and [name]Piper[/name] and two peahens [name]Priscilla[/name] and [name]Paige[/name].
