what do y’all think about Pangaea as a name? would you use it for a boy or a girl? what would you use as a middle name?

Sounds cute but would wonder if you’re a geologist or something haha Its like a mix of [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] and [name_f]Gia[/name_f] so I would use it on a girl
I keep wanting to use nature names and word names in the middle but I think it sounds like I’m describing something that came from the Pangaea continent 
like Pangaea stone sounds like a stone from Pangaea so let’s see what else I can come up with

It’s unique. [name_m]Not[/name_m] unusable though. [name_m]You[/name_m] will always need to spell it for people (even though it is a real word, people these days are very bad at spelling, history, and geography lol).
I definitely see it as a girl Bname, with [name_f]Gaea[/name_f] (pronounced like [name_f]Gia[/name_f]) as a very cute nickname.
For a middle, I would go with a simple, crisp, familiar girl name to balance the uniqueness of Pangaea:

For me it would be a GP name I think, but it’s a very cool name! It would make a fun middle name if it felt too out-there for a first name. I think it has a lot of more usable/expected nicknames (Angie, [name_f]Gia[/name_f], [name_f]Penny[/name_f] etc). How fun would it be to meet an [name_f]Angie[/name_f] and then find out it was short for Pangaea?
Echoing this, my first instinct is girl but it’s a word name so I don’t think it’s totally unreasonable on a boy. I’d assume a Pangaea was a girl, though for the reason mentioned above by KaiLun.

Pangaea is interesting, it sounds more like a feminine name to me. It does make me think of the super continent but it does also have some familiar name sounds as other have pointed out (‘Gia’) which could potentially cause some people to assume its spelling at ‘Pangia’ if they were unaware of the super continent or unfamiliar with ‘aea’ spellings, especially since it can also be pronounced like ‘Gaia’

I like Pangaea, it feels like a very upper crusty [name_f]British[/name_f] telegraph sort of name (complimentary). Definitely leans feminine in my mind, a la [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f].
For middles, maybe something simple and ending in an ee sound for contrast?

It has a nice sound, but it doesn’t feel namey enough to me. I like [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], [name_f]Aglaia[/name_f], etc., better. I think I would use it for a girl, with something simple or classic as a middle (Pangaea [name_f]Kate[/name_f], Pangaea [name_f]Louise[/name_f], Pangaea Natalie?). I honestly have no clue what I’d use for a sibling; maybe [name_f]Galatea[/name_f] or maybe something else Greek or ancient [name_m]Roman[/name_m]? I think a lot of @AcutePunubiris Kitt’s beloved boys’ names would pair really well with it, actually, like [name_m]Invictus[/name_m] and [name_m]Asterion[/name_m], for a brother!

For me it would be very much a guilty pleasure name and not something I’d actually use on a child. But I know of kids named Taint, [name_m]Cartel[/name_m], and [name_f]Luxury[/name_f], so me personally not wanting to use it doesn’t make it unusable!

I like a one syllable name given that it’s a long 3 syllables… the likes of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would sound beautiful with it, but I know they’re very overused. I feel like the name flows better when the middle name sounds are very different to the first name sounds, e.g. I wouldn’t use Pangaea [name_f]June[/name_f] because of the doubled up “j” sound. I also wouldn’t use a word name for a middle like [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] or [name_f]Skye[/name_f], because Pangaea is a word it sounds too much like a specific description.
