Past Due Date and Need a Name

Our baby boy will arrive any day now and we still need a name for him. This will be our fifth child and we are hoping for another one in the future. Our last name is Drennan and our children are [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. Below is the list of names that I presented to my husband. I told him that I think these names could work but I have been having difficulty narrowing them down and finding a winner. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband eliminated the ones he really does not like and left the ones that he could live with(which I moved to the top with an asterisk). I’d like opinions on these names and which ones sound best. Please go ahead and let me know if you think my sweet hubby eliminated a better choice. We’re not that concerned with the name being too popular. However, I would like the name to sound handsome, good with our last name, classy, and fit well enough with our sib set. I realize that’s a tall order. I am quite stressed about choosing a good name and I am running out of time. Thank you for your help!

*[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] “[name_m]Ben[/name_m]” (Husband said he prefers the name [name_m]Ben[/name_m] over [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m].)
*[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
*[name_m]William[/name_m] “[name_m]Will[/name_m]” (He would go exclusively by [name_m]Will[/name_m] because we have a young nephew named [name_m]William[/name_m].)
*[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m]
*[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
*[name_m]Liam[/name_m]
*Dutch ([name_f]My[/name_f] husband added this name.)
*[name_m]Angus[/name_m] ([name_f]My[/name_f] husband added this name.)
*[name_m]Adrian[/name_m]
[name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]

I love [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]. I wouldn’t use [name_m]William[/name_m] if you have a nephew by that name. I like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Angus[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] too.

You have so many great choices! I like [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] with your group.

[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] “[name_m]Ben[/name_m]”- I really love names beginning with B and this fits with that. Great nickname and a formal name to fall back on, lovely!
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]- A popular choice but is sounds cute and I do like it with your other children’s names.
[name_m]William[/name_m] “[name_m]Will[/name_m]”- This seems dated to me and I’m not a fan because you already have one in the family. Not very exciting imo, sorry!
[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m]- The nicknames would mean that the name would age well but it isn’t my style.
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]- This is cute! Nice familiar name which works in its favour.
[name_m]Liam[/name_m]- I like this in the middle for [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]! Not a fan of short first names but the sound of it is lovely.
Dutch- An unusual option! Again, I’d reside it in the middle if he likes it but think it is too out there for a first.
[name_m]Angus[/name_m]- [name_u]August[/name_u] is a more favoured option on here but if you like the nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u] then this is a good choice, just nms.
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m]- Associated with the older generation near me so I can’t see it on a child but if that’s not an issue for you then it doesn’t matter! haha
Overall, I like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Liam[/name_m] from this list. [name_f]My[/name_f] ultimate favourite is [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] though!X

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite name you have is [name_u]Noah[/name_u].

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about the name [name_m]Grant[/name_m]? It is spectacular with your sibset. When you said you wanted something handsome and clay, [name_m]Grant[/name_m] immediately jumped to mind. [name_m]Grant[/name_m] Drenner works well and maybe you’re husband well like it because it’s sturdy and short like the name [name_m]Ben[/name_m]. Almost all other names on your list would work well for middles

With your sibset & last name, [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is my favorite.

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is on our list

*[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] “[name_m]Ben[/name_m]” [name_m]Ben[/name_m] Drennan might be a bit rhymey.
*[name_m]William[/name_m] “[name_m]Will[/name_m]” [name_m]William[/name_m] is great. Maybe [name_m]Willem[/name_m] would be a good choice is you are concerned about the nephew?
*[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m]- Another good classic choice. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] choice, but does the ‘an’ ending on both your first and last name bother you? If not, go for it.
*[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]- Another good classic. It goes very nicely with your last name too.
*[name_m]Liam[/name_m]- Another good choice. Personally I prefer [name_m]William[/name_m], but it is obviously up to you and both are good names.
*Dutch ([name_f]My[/name_f] husband added this name.)- I actually think this would be pretty spunky!
*[name_m]Angus[/name_m] ([name_f]My[/name_f] husband added this name.)- Fits nicely with your last name and your children’s names.
*[name_m]Adrian[/name_m]- Ditto. I do think it is a bit similar to your last name though.
[name_m]John[/name_m]- Another good classic. This is lovely on a little boy.
[name_m]Joshua[/name_m]- A good solid classic.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]- Another wonderful classic, one of my favourites.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]- Personally, I have nasty associations with this name, but it obviously doesn’t affect you- so I would say another good solid name.
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m]- A good classic, with a twist.
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]- It would fit nicely.
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]- Ditto.

Personally, I think that [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] Drennan, [name_m]Angus[/name_m] Drennan, [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] Drennan and Dutch Drennan (Dutch gets extra points for spunk, but it is a bit of a different style to your other children. They are all individuals though :).) Good luck and happy naming :).

Of your Husbands favourites I really like:

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m]. I also like [name_u]Noah[/name_u], it works well with your sib-set in flow, but I feel it’s way to popular.

Overall I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] the best though, then [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. Classic names that fit in really nicely with your others. I’m loving Dutch as an option for a middle name!
