We always liked the name [name_u]Paxton[/name_u], but with our last name (Boettcher, prounounced bet-cher), we like the way Paxson sounds — will we be setting up our future child for a constant headache of correcting people that it’s Paxson, not [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]? Full name: Paxson [name_u]Hayes[/name_u] Boettcher
Overall, I don’t think it would be a constant headache of correcting people that it’s Paxson. But I do think there is a chance that, on the odd occasion, someone might mishear it slightly and say [name_u]Paxton[/name_u].
If you’re worried about him having to correct people all the time, and being annoyed by it, I would probably just go with [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] to be safe.
And, personally, I prefer [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] to Paxson
I don’t see any issue with [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] Bet-cher. If that’s what you like, you should use it.
If, on the other hand, you do prefer the no T version. spell it [name_m]Paxon[/name_m]. The S would be superfluous because the X already makes a ks sound.
I prefer [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]!
I think [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] just feels like the most intuitive spelling and looks streamlined whereas Paxson feels a little made up and a bit too trendy. I also think Paxson would create difficulty with correcting spelling constantly as people will want to spell the name [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]. I also think [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] works just fine with your surname.
You could go just [name_u]Pax[/name_u]? [name_u]Pax[/name_u] is my favourite version of this choice such a handsome name that feels peaceful and has a great flow with your surname.
I do prefer [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] - just feels easier - but also, looks and sounds more appealing to me. Still, Paxson is nice enough and I think people would get used to it
Agree with this!
I prefer [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]. I support the [name_m]Paxon[/name_m] spelling if you go with the other choice.
Unfortunately I do think that Paxson would always get mistaken for [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]. I say this from experience working as a paraeducator in a kindergarten classroom with a boy named Parxton. Honestly, every single adult who interacted with the kid called him [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] at least a few times before getting it right. [name_f]Every[/name_f] sub, every para, etc. [name_m]Even[/name_m] the other kids in the class got tired of it (anytime someone said [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] the whole class would yell "it’s Parxton). Upside is, his peers had no problem with it, but probably because they weren’t reading much yet.
And honestly, I kinda like Parxton
[name_u]Paxton[/name_u] sounds better with your surname to me!
I prefer [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]. Paxson reminds me too much of the clothing store PacSun. I think it works just fine with your surname!
I’d go with [name_m]Paxon[/name_m]!
For me, the “xs” in Paxson just looks too confusing to the eye, and [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] doesn’t flow quite as well with the surname.
I really like the “peace” meaning!
[name_u]Paxton[/name_u]
Maybe [name_m]Paxon[/name_m] without the S. X says “ks” so the S is redundant.
I like both names and I’m familiar with both names as fn in [name_u]South[/name_u] US.
I actually prefer [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] with your ln, though.
GREAT full name combo either way.
