Peggy as middle name?

We want to give our baby girl a middle name after my partner’s grandma, [name_f]Peggy[/name_f]. I immediately discounted [name_f]Peggy[/name_f], without really considering it, and we thought we would use [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] instead (which was grandma’s full name). The first names I really like ([name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], [name_f]Anais[/name_f] are current favourites) won’t really work with our surname and M as a middle initial, so I was thinking of maybe using [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] instead. Our surname is M…ale (without the dots)

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it is useable? Would you do it? Or does it just sound odd???

Forgot to add my DD is Ivy. So any thoughts on Ivy and Iris together?

Out of all the names my favorite is [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. Instead of [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] (which I love and see no problem in using despite the last name), have you considered: [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Magali[/name_f]?

[name_f]Anais[/name_f] is beautiful but pardon my [name_m]French[/name_m], reminds me of anal.

[name_f]Anouk[/name_f] is my second choice for FN.

You know, coming to think of it, I got the idea on [name_f]Anais[/name_f] wrong. I much prefer it with the accentuation marks: [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs, makes it easier to pronounce and differentiate in my opinion.

I’d stick w/[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. I’ve known a lot of dogs named ‘[name_f]Peggy[/name_f]’.

In the United States, [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] was last most popular in 1882, and [name_f]Peggy[/name_f], in 1958.

So, to me, the two eras don’t jive … even though it’s [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]'s sister’s middle name we’re talking about :).

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f], then [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], would be my personal order of preference in honoring Grandma.

I actually think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] is adorable! The names mesh well together, unlike with [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] and [name_f]Anais[/name_f], both of which sound too [name_m]French[/name_m] modern to fit with [name_f]Peggy[/name_f]. But it is only a MN so it would definitely work, especially if you feel it more accurately honors.

I do think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] are a little close for sisters. Not OVERLY so but I forsee you mixing the two up when calling their names.
