Penelope, Maeve and Erin

What thoughts come to mind when you think of [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_u]Erin[/name_u] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] please? And what nicknames. Thanks

If this is putting together a sibset I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] together… [name_u]Erin[/name_u] seems out of place a bit for me. [name_u]Penny[/name_u] seems like the default nn for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] but [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]Erin[/name_u] seem good without them.

I think they all flow together nicely. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_u]Erin[/name_u] with the [name_u]Irish[/name_u] roots. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] with the trendy sound. [name_u]Erin[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] may be a bit odd to some, but I love both names so if I were to meet a sib set with these names I wouldn’t think twice.

My thoughts…

Penelope ~ she’s graceful, romantic, visually attractive, has lovely mythological references, a range of delightful nicknames and I love the meaning ‘weaver’ such a stunning choice. I can imagine someone petite elegant dark featured girl who loves ballet.

Erin ~ this name makes me smile because my beloved absolutely gorgeous sister adores Erin! I think Erin is lovely she’s outdoorsy, feels streamlined and understated with beautiful connections to Ireland. I see a bright energetic red haired girl who loves the outdoors.

Maeve ~ honestly Maeve is beautiful a lovely mythological option with pretty connections to Ireland. Maeve has a sweet sound feels delicate and I like how she could be a fun way to get to Evie nickname. I see someone sweet, smart and quiet with fair features.

I have spoken about these names in order of my favourite to least favourite but all three are beautiful.

Hope this helps

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] ~ I think of [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] Pitstop, [name_f]Lady[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] from Thunderbirds and [name_u]Pen[/name_u] from Bridgerton so it definitely reads as ladylike and rather posh! There’s also a [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] in [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] so it’s got that Regency/Greek feel. I see a manor house with a huge library, horse riding, afternoon tea at Claridge’s.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] ~ I always used to think of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as a bit of an old lady name, I think I’d only ever encountered it on older generations but of course it’s coming back around now like many ‘vintage’ names and feels incredibly trendy for little girls. It reminds me of mythology and legends, sorceresses and sword fights, magic potions and grimoires. I’d expect a [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] to be thoughtful and deep, but I expect with its popularity it has the potential to be a ‘cool girl’ name for the next generation.

[name_u]Erin[/name_u] ~ brisk, fresh air and green hills (very [name_u]Irish[/name_u] imagery there!!), hand-knitted gloves and bonfires on the beach, someone fun-loving and outdoorsy. To me it feels rather 90s, I know a couple of Erins a little older than me and a few my age (I’m 30) but I do think it would be very sweet on a little girl! One [name_u]Erin[/name_u] in particular whom I know is the loveliest person, very heartfelt and caring, so I get really nice vibes
