Penelope or Elodie-Marie

OH adores [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] however, I just love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. OH does love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] but he much prefers [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f].

I’m not keen at all on [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] but do like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]? Any ideas? Which do you prefer?

Thank you.

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] is a lot to put on a little girl - and she would likely end up going by [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] anyways. Another downside to [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] is that if you had another daughter you might be reluctant to use your loved [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] because of the rhyming.

I like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] equally on their own!!

I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. It’s such an elegant name.

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] as a double first name sounds rather long-winded to me, plus I’m not a fan of the repeated -ie endings. I do like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] on its own though.

I agree with PPs that [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] is a bit of a mouthful. I’d go with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] on its own is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I like them both but prefer [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], it’s beautiful, lovely and unique!

I think [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is lovely on its own, it really doesn’t need the [name_f]Marie[/name_f] on the end. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is very pretty too. Either way - [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] - would be a great choice.

I adore [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f], but I can see the issue of it being too much of a mouthful. What about [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f]?

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I don’t like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]!!

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] is gorgeous! I don’t like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] sorry.

I think [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] on its own is very pretty.

If [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] was on its own, it’d be my favourite. Although [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] is very pretty, I think [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]'s a better choice.

I also like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] on its own best. Maybe [name_f]Marie[/name_f] could be a middle name, rather than hyphenated?

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]? I’m not familiar with it. Is is E-LO-dee or [name_f]ELL[/name_f]-o-dee?

If it’s the latter pronunciation, maybe [name_f]Melody[/name_f] could be an alternative to [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f]?

Of the two, I prefer [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].

I like both names, but I think hyphenated names can be rather difficult, at least in the US. I would compromise with just [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. [name_f]Marie[/name_f] could be a middle name, and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are both cute.

[name_f]ELL[/name_f]-o-dee

I dislike hyphenated names. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is great. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] would be my second choice.
I agree with the previous comment pointing out the double “ie” ending being too repetitive.

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is my favorite - I’d just stick with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as the middle name. Or, if you wanted [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], you could use [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as the middle for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as a sort of compromise.
