I am beginning to write a new story and would really like your help in naming some of my characters. So, here we go!

  1. 26 year old playboy, heir to large estate and father’s steel industry. He was always an extremely popular guy in school, partially due to his family’s influence. Likes to push people around, bossy, father thinks he is the only possible person to run the company after his death, though it is obvious to just about everyone else that all he is is a slacker. Think: [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Bach[/name] from recent movie [name]Arthur[/name]. Raped #2 when he was a senior, resulting in her pregnancy, got away with it.
    His name is a WASP-y sounding name, very english, has stupid college frat-boy nn though.

  2. 23 year old girl, dropped out of high school in tenth grade after finding out she was pregnant. Raped by #1 at a party, he denies anything. Parents refuse to accept her or her pregnancy. Loner in school, she acts sort of like a goth, but really is using it as a cover up for who she really is. Gave her child up for adoption. Prone to alcohol and drug abuse, lives in tent cities and hopping trains in Oregon-[name]Washington[/name]. Wants to clean up her act and find her daughter and be a good mother but finds that reality isn’t helping. Does get raped again later in the story, but forces a doctor to give her an abortion.
    First name is typical for her age group, e.g. [name]Ashley[/name] or [name]Jessica[/name]. middle name is for her Victorian grandmother, very old lady sounding. Eastern European last name

  3. Modern contemporary couple, late twenties. House looks like something out of Better Homes and Gardens. Have son, 12, adopted #2’s daughter. Very Stylish names

These aren’t really my naming style but I think they meet the brief although I improvised on the nick names as i’m not sure what constitutes a frat boy nick name as I’m british and don’t really have fraternitys

  2. Does she come from a lower class family? I looked up common Polish last names:

  3. I’m not sold on 20 year olds with a 12 year old son. If they are 28 for example, the mother would have gotten pregnant at 15 maybe 14. That does not sound like a modern couple living in home from better homes and garden. Did they adopt him? Did the go to college? If I was reading this story I would be obsessing over it.

Thank you for pointing these facts out to me. On my notes, the son is only 8, celebrates that birthday midway through the story. His parents are both 29(almost 30, the dad turns 30 in the story, too), so he was born when they were about 22. Correct me if i’m wrong. [name]Both[/name] father and mother went to college, mom for four years, dad for 6. As for the home, the mom’s family is a real influential one in the neighborhood, lot of money, so they bought the house as a wedding present for their daughter.

#1 will probably be named [name]George[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] Woodward, nn [name]Georgie[/name] Boy. Name was thought up by my mom, and the nickname by my little brother. It seems to best fit my character and his family. Thanks though to everyone’s suggestions on that one and everyone else, they’ve helped me alot.

#2’s family… hmm, I haven’t thought about that. I guess I would call them lower middle class. They are almost exclusively mentioned in flashbacks, only current mention to family comes when the brother finds #2 while volunteering in a homeless shelter. That being said, the dad in flashbacks is some sort of higher up in Walmart management regionally, and the mom is something of a [name]Susie[/name] Homemaker kind of person. Not sure what you would call that.

For #2’s name, I’m stuck between [name]Brittany[/name] & [name]Amy[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t want her really to be named [name]Brittany[/name], as it is the name of a friend of mine, but it really seems to fit the character. Middle name is probably [name]Eleanor[/name], and last name is Kozlowski.

#3’s eight year old son is named [name]Justin[/name] [name]Phillip[/name].
Am not naming #3 adopted, #2’s biological daughter until I can get a better feel for who she is. Then I’m hoping the name will come to me. [name]Juniper[/name] nn [name]Juno[/name] is sticking out to me. Any thoughts on that?

Some background info on the little girl. She’s 7 years old, has dark brown stringy, straight hair, near black brown eyes and pale skin. Doesn’t fit in with her all blond haired, blue eyed family, and has become very aware of it.
