[name_f]Do[/name_f] you know anything whose personality doesn’t match their name?
I thought of this because a college kid in one of my classes was named [name_u]Liam[/name_u], and he was super emo. Now [name_u]Liam[/name_u] is weirdly tied to a dark, moody college student.
I think everyone’s name ends up fitting them! I seriously can’t think of one person I know that doesn’t fit with their name. I also know a lot of [name_f]Marys[/name_f] and each of them fits their own name even though they are all different and some in different generations. I guess the names are just placeholders for me.
I know 2 different [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]’s and it doesn’t suit either of them, in my opinion There’ve definitely been others, but I can’t think of them at the moment.
Does my own name count? I think [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is a pretty name but much too soft for my more bouncy personality.
I also know this super cool athletic guy that looks pretty scary, and then his full name is [name_m]Dave[/name_m]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_m]Dave[/name_m].
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom has a friend named Ladybug who is not at all as quirky and fun as her name implies
Yes!! I roomed with a girl named [name_f]Libby[/name_f] at a summer military camp, back when we were 16 or 17. She was the opposite of “girly.” She was a kickäss athlete, obviously interested in the military, a natural leader… And having such a girly, nickname-y name did not fit her. Something more formal, like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with the childhood nn [name_f]Libby[/name_f], would have fit better.
Honestly, I’m not sure if I would have noticed, but she opened up to me about how she didn’t feel like her name fit her. Once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it.
(Disclaimer - I don’t dislike the name [name_f]Libby[/name_f], nor nicknames as full names. This one happened to just not fit this person at all)
I think my name. I think my name suits me super well, but I’m not at all what people imagine my name to be, especially on NB. I’m more of a geek, loves punk music and sci-fi/ action movies, loves black and dark colors, more of a slight grunge aesthetic. Most people see my name as a hippy, free spirit, bubbly, running barefoot in flower fields kinda vibe
The only [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] I’ve ever met did not fit her name. She was tough, tall, muscular, a bit clumsy and heavy footed, loud, and awkward. It is one of the reasons I don’t like the name [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] because I don’t think it’s a very versatile name that fits any girl. It felt awkward on her.
She actually had a double first name ([name_f]Daisy[/name_f]-Something) and I think the other name would’ve fit her a thousand times better.
I don’t think my middle name [name_u]Louise[/name_u] fits me (even other people have said this too!) Iv’e honestly never really liked it either. I think it’s too grounded to suit my personality.
i’ve always though my name doesn’t suit me. [name_f]Danielle[/name_f]. feels old and not very adaptable, i’m quite an athletic person and also a bit creative and i could never really feel my name being me.
i also feel like this is portrayed in my name styling as i feel as though my naming style is very current and “creative”
