Lately, I’ve been thinking about some of my favourite names for girls, and I’ve realised that both [name_f]Persis[/name_f] and [name_f]Perdita[/name_f] are in the top five, and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] isn’t far behind. I want just wondering what people’s opinions were on those three, and if anyone knows any other lovely ‘[name_m]Per[/name_m]’ names
I would also love to know what people think would be good middle names for [name_f]Persis[/name_f]/[name_f]Perdita[/name_f]. Any ideas?
[name_f]Pernilla[/name_f] or [name_f]Petronella[/name_f], perhaps? [name_f]Petronella[/name_f] isn’t really a [name_m]Per[/name_m]-name but has some similarities.
I love [name_f]Persis[/name_f] and [name_f]Perdita[/name_f]! Maybe Peronel?
I go back and forth on whether or not I like that one. I like the sounds individually, but sometimes I think the whole name has a brand name/medicinal sort of sound.
I love [name_f]Piera[/name_f] as well, which is a little more removed but still similar. [name_f]Pallas[/name_f] is another good one. [name_f]Perpetua[/name_f]?
I think [name_u]Percy[/name_u] works for a girl. [name_f]Perla[/name_f]. [name_f]Perlina[/name_f].
There’s [name_f]Perlezenn[/name_f]. I think it’s beautiful, and Cornish if I remember rightly?
I do love [name_f]Perdita[/name_f] (little [name_f]Dita[/name_f]!). Has anyone suggested [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] yet?
Not a ‘per’ name, but I absolutely adore [name_f]Parisa[/name_f]. I would 100% use it if I had some Iranian heritage.
I’ve got a couple of ancestors named [name_f]Permelia[/name_f].
My first thought was [name_u]Peri[/name_u], but that doesn’t seem like your style… [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Perla[/name_f], [name_f]Perpetua[/name_f], or [name_f]Perrine[/name_f]?
I was going to suggest [name_f]Perrine[/name_f]!
[name_u]Perrin[/name_u]
[name_u]Persia[/name_u]
I love the suggestions of [name_f]Peridot[/name_f] and Peronel!!!
[name_f]Peridot[/name_f]
[name_u]Peri[/name_u]
[name_u]Peri[/name_u] is my favorite.
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]
[name_f]Perdita[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Perdita[/name_f] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]
[name_f]Perdita[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Perdita[/name_f] [name_f]Veronique[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Angelica[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Madrigal[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Kelila[/name_f]
[name_f]Persis[/name_f] [name_f]Liora[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Persis[/name_f]- I think it is so sleek and elegant. [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is gorgeous too.
Other ‘per’ names I love: [name_f]Peridot[/name_f], [name_u]Percy[/name_u], [name_f]Perla[/name_f], [name_f]Perlita[/name_f], [name_f]Perlina[/name_f], [name_f]Perline[/name_f].
Perenna has not been mentioned, she’s very beautiful!
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Persis[/name_f] are favourites of mine, and I love the suggestion of [name_f]Perla[/name_f], [name_f]Parisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Peridot[/name_f].
It’s not the same, but I thought I should also mention Hesper/[name_u]Vesper[/name_u] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] has much the same feel as many of the other [name_m]Per[/name_m]-names
Oh I had to reply, my name is [name_u]Peri[/name_u] and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it, (thank you, Mum).
It’s very unusual I’ve only ever seen 1 other person with it in my whole life.
I have been nicknamed affectionately Pear, by my Hubby (which I love).
I find it very useable in work too, I’m a college grad, with 2 degrees and a Mum now and have never felt it hindered me having an uncommon name.
Oh and look up [name_u]Peri[/name_u] legends and read some of the stories about the [name_u]Peri[/name_u]'s and if you like feminine name meanings, I believe you will be sold.
I hadn’t thought about those ones! [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] are lovely, although I think I prefer [name_f]Hester[/name_f] to Hesper
I’ve been loving [name_f]Perdita[/name_f] lately! And [name_f]Persis[/name_f] is awesome. Earlier this year I came across the similar Perseda and thought it was stunning.
The only other one I can think of is Perenelle–wasn’t that [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] Flamel’s wife’s name in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]?
