Percival?

What do you think of [name]Percival[/name], with the n.n. [name]Percy[/name]? The combo we have so far is [name]Percival[/name] [name]Walter[/name] [name]Knight[/name] Surname.

My husband rejects any names that are “typical” brother to [name]Theodore[/name] names like [name]George[/name], [name]Rupert[/name], [name]Frederick[/name] and even [name]Dashiell[/name]. He says he likes [name]Percival[/name], and I do too, but I’m not sure it goes with [name]Theodore[/name] “[name]Theo[/name]”.

Thoughts?

The name [name]Percy[/name] has been growing on me a LOT lately, and I really like it. I also like [name]Percival[/name] as the best name to get to it. I think [name]Percival[/name] definitely goes well with [name]Theodore[/name], both in full and nn form. [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Percival[/name], [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Percy[/name] (the nns sound REALLY good together). I think they are similar in that neither is common or trendy and both are very “full” first names with shorter, easier-going nns, which I really like. I also really like that both the two full names and two nns have the same cadence of syllables, I think it makes them flow really well. So I’d say go for it!!

I think [name]Percival[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] pair exceedingly well together. They both have that medieval feel to me with a modern touch.

[name]Percy[/name] is one of my all time favorite names and [name]Percival[/name] is a great way to get to it! I think [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Percival[/name], or [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Percy[/name] make a wonderful sibset.

[name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Percival[/name] make an awesome sibset! I say go with it!

[name]Percival[/name] is great. Goes great with [name]Theodore[/name]. Great all around. And both of you like it. I think you’ve got a winner.

[name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Percival[/name] would be such a sweet, gentlemanly pair. [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Percy[/name]!
I also love [name]Winston[/name], but it might be overly… presidential/prime ministerial next to [name]Theodore[/name].

[name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Percival[/name], [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Percy[/name], would make great brothers.
[name]Percival[/name] is a really cool name, and I love the nickname [name]Percy[/name], it’s cute and fun.

Thank you for your thoughts! I had a good feeling about it, but I was worried we were too close to see it from the outside.

[name]Percy[/name] is a good choice but I love, love [name]Rupert[/name] he is one of my grand passions.

Another vote for. I do love [name]Percy[/name] and [name]Theo[/name].

I absolutely love [name]Percival[/name]! It’s so dashing and handsome. I think of the knight [name]Percival[/name] from the [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] legends. Because of that I think [name]Knight[/name] would be overkill, but [name]Walter[/name] is wonderful with it. [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Percival[/name] would make such a beautiful sibset.

[name]Percival[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Percy[/name] and [name]Theo[/name]. Perfect both ways.

I think the [name]Knight[/name] might be a little much, [name]Percival[/name] is already a knight name. It’s not terrible if you totally love it, but I think the combination could be swapped a bit and be improved.

I agree with the previous comments, [name]Percival[/name] and [name]Knight[/name] together are a bit much.

Oh shoot, I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the [name]Percival[/name]/knight connection. When I last checked no one had, so I thought I was in the clear. [name]Knight[/name] has other connections and a meaningfulness for us, which is why it was part of the combo. It wasn’t until I googled it that I realized the connection to [name]Percival[/name]. Oh well the combo isn’t set in stone so I will have to discuss it with my hubby. We were really excited about [name]Knight[/name] :frowning: ugg lol

^^ Oh my, I didn’t see the [name]Knight[/name] in there. Yes I agree it’s [name]OTT[/name] Round Table.
[name]May[/name] I ask what the [name]Knight[/name] connection is for you? Is there some other name that can be made from whatever the namesake/story is?

I love the name [name]Percival[/name], nn [name]Percy[/name]! It’s so great! The only thing I ever worry about is that it sounds like “Purse-y”, which may be troublesome for a boy, depending on the boy. Honestly, though, kids will always find something if they want to, so it has always been a minor concern for me.

[name]Theo[/name] and [name]Percy[/name] are just perfect together!

The personal significance links back to my husband’s childhood and the street he grew up on, as well as the beginning of our romance. It’s certainly not absolutely necessary we use it. I just pointed out the ‘problem’ to my husband and he said he likes the unintentional theme! He is completely undeterred! Eek, I guess I’d better come up with some other good options if he is going to let it go. I’m disappointed, but [name]Walter[/name] is in honour of his grandfather, so maybe we can pick a name that’s more representative of me
