Phoebe vs lila

hello:)

ok i have an experiment for all you girls… please say [name]PHOEBE[/name] outloud, maybe a half dozen times. is it difficult for you to say? why does it make my throat hurt? LOL! I absolutely adore this name, and i keep striking it off my list due to this issue. am i over thinking it? i think it is the internal rhyme… the EE-EE… but i love the meaning and sound of the “F”. It has been on my list for years and years. honest opinions?

[name]Lila[/name]- is this getting very common now? its only 88 in my state… which i think is fine… but i’ve also observed some oddball spellings lately for this name…

Not difficult! [name]Phoebe[/name] is wonderful to my ear.

[name]Lila[/name]…I do think all the variations are making it feel more popular than it actually is. I have met an awfully lot of little girls names [name]Lila[/name], [name]Lilah[/name], [name]Leila[/name] (where they pronounce it the same, not layla), etc… It’s a pretty name too, but [name]Phoebe[/name] just has that little extra something special for me.

I’ve never thought about it, but I can sort of see what you mean! F and B sounds require a lot more physical effort than L, so [name]Lila[/name] is certainly the easier one to say… but not on a conscious level.

They’re both fantastic names. I personally see [name]Phoebe[/name] as quirky and cute, where [name]Lila[/name] is smooth and perhaps a bit shy, and sultry as an adult.
