I have recently been opening up to Phoebe as a name even it is not my usual style!
I like it because:
It reminds me of the moon, and I love the moon!
That βoeβ makes it look full and very mature and beautiful, that βeβ in Phebe makes it feel more youthful yet ancient at the same time, both have flair
I like how FEH-beh sounds in my language
I prefer Phoebe to Febe
It means bright, which fits well with two other names I like (Helen and Klara)
What do you think of it?
I might pronounce it as FEH-beh where I live and FEE-bee in an English speaking country. I also do not mind Phebe! I actually pronounce Phebe the same.
She sits well with many other names I enjoy: Isadora, Diana, Galatea, Armida, Erminia, JosΓ©phine, Viorica, Vienna, Menta, Brunilde, Andrea, Sagitta, Emilie, Bluma, Frida, Elisabeth, Berenice, Clodiaβ¦
Been a fave of mine for many, many years. It has always struck me as both intellectual and utterly sweet and cheerful. I think the character in Friends meant the name declined in favour - as it was then associated with being nice and probably artistic but also vague and dippy (or not especially clever).
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is my favourite girls name of all time
[name_f]Goddess[/name_f] of the moon - how could a name be more perfect?
[name_f]My[/name_f] firstborn daughter is [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
I love it! So bright and happy but with a little bit of an elegant and mysterious edge. If I could use it it would 100% be on my list.
I like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - it does remind me of the moon, it feels distinctive but familiar, I like -bee ending names, [name_f]Bee[/name_f], Bebe/Bibi and Phee are cute nicknames, itβs sort of fun but sensible too. I like the sound of FEH-beh too - sounds pleasing!

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful! I wish it was less common as its a name that has been growing on me a lot recently. If pronounced with the -bee ending, nickname [name_f]Bee[/name_f] is adorable!
