I only see [name]Phoenix[/name] as usable for a boy. I just don’t picture that name on a girl at all, though I have never met one/known of one either. And I think it’s an okay name. I’m not crazy about it, but it’s not awful.
I kind of like it on a boy, but would loathe it on a girl. I’m American, so I think of it as a place name in addition to the mythological bird rising from ashes.
I have a daughter named [name]Phoenix[/name] [name]Rose[/name], but I definitely think it is usable for a boy. My daughter is Chinese American, so I chose the name to help her keep in touch with her heritage. But for those who are not Chinese, it think it’s perfectly fine to use it on a boy.
I don’t see why [name]Phoenix[/name] can’t be used on a boy. I have it for one o my list.
[name]Phoenix[/name] [name]Jaspar[/name] is fantastic. I don’t like [name]Phoenix[/name] on a girl at all!
I don’t particularly like the name but I do think it’s more masculine.
I know a little girl named [name]Phoenix[/name] nn Phoenie. While I’m now aware of a little boy that lives nearby named [name]Phoenix[/name] as well, my first association is female. What is the prevalence in your area? That would be a big factor for me. I love [name]Jasper[/name] though!
I much prefer it on boys. I think it is a strong and handsome name 
I have never once considered [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] on a boy. As an American I can understand why it would sound more masculine, but I am very much aware of the Chinese culture’s belief on it. Also, the only [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] I have ever known is my 5 year old cousin, [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u].
I know this is an old thread, but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] on a boy. The view of it in Chinese culture is starting to worry me though. I’ll have to hope it doesn’t become common knowledge here.
