[name]Lucien[/name]
[name]Dudley[/name]
[name]Irving[/name]
[name]Percy[/name]
[name]Fletcher[/name]
[name]Augustus[/name]
[name]Etienne[/name]
[name]Sterling[/name]
[name]Fredrick[/name]
[name]Soren[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Sufjan[/name]
[name]Percy[/name] is a guilty pleasure of mine. I do however prefer the longer spelling - [name]Percival[/name]. To me, the name seems to have charm along the lines of [name]William[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] without the overuse and popularity.
I like [name]Fletcher[/name], [name]Soren[/name] and [name]Fredrick[/name]. [name]Lucien[/name] is okay.
[name]Fletcher[/name], hands down. It is uncommon, yet familiar (therefore, misspelling will probably not be an issue). Plus, the nn [name]Fletch[/name] is pretty catchy.
[name]Sterling[/name]! It is so old-fashioned and I love it!
[name]Etienne[/name], [name]Sterling[/name] and [name]Soren[/name] are my favorites.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Soren[/name]!
[name]Augustus[/name] - maybe call him [name]Gus[/name]
[name]Percy[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Sterling[/name] was on our list but hubby was hesitant. I like it a lot!
[name]Percy[/name], [name]Soren[/name] & [name]Lucien[/name]
I like [name]Lucien[/name].
[name]Lucien[/name]
[name]Augustus[/name]
[name]Sterling[/name]
[name]Soren[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name]
[name]Lionel[/name]- I know a [name]Lionel[/name]. Funny, talented, a bit fussy. I like the contrast of the indoor, dusty-booked sound of the name against the outdoor imagery of lions rough-housing.
[name]Lucien[/name]- The “light” name that most embodies the feeling of light imo. [name]Lucien[/name] is so warm and clear. Sumptuous.
[name]Sterling[/name]- I knew one who was the dearest, rosy-cheeked, Southern gentleman. A class act, and the name fit him perfectly. It’s like silver bells.
[name]Etienne[/name] - one of the best French names. [name]Etienne[/name] sounds like little rivers and has a silvery twinkle to it.
[name]Lucien[/name] - I prefer [name]Lucius[/name] or [name]Lucian[/name], but [name]Lucien[/name] is very pretty as well. For some reason this name makes me think of silver figurines.
[name]Sterling[/name] - makes me think of hunters and warriors with starling birds flying over their heads.
[name]Fredrick[/name] is probably my favorite from your list, but I think [name]Soren[/name], [name]Sterling[/name], [name]Percy[/name], and [name]Fletcher[/name] are pretty cool.
[name]Soren[/name] is the only one I like
I really like [name]Etienne[/name] and [name]Soren[/name] and have a soft spot for [name]Percy[/name]. [name]Augustus[/name] is very nice, but I think [name]August[/name] would be easier to wear. I knew a girl named [name]Sterling[/name] growing up, so that name lost it’s masculine flare for me, which I find very sad. [name]Fletcher[/name] it my DH’s name, and he gets compliments on his name all the time!
Wow [name]Sufjan[/name]! I love that guy. That said, that’s not my favorite from your list. I really love [name]Soren[/name] and [name]Sterling[/name]. I love [name]Sterling[/name] because I feel like it’s this erudite little name that is mainstream enough to have been heard of, but isn’t common. I imagine a sweet little boy. I love [name]Soren[/name] for the scandinavian feel, the hip sound (-en ending), and the connection to Kierkegaard. I think I like it slightly better because [name]Sterling[/name] has an edge of money-grubbing and pretension to it.
I love…
[name]Augustus[/name] - strong, dignified, masculine and majestic
[name]Etienne[/name] - A wonderful French name
[name]Sterling[/name] -many British people first think of their money but I think of “a person of sterling qualities”. I love it!
I like…
[name]Percy[/name] - An aristocratic surname or a nn for [name]Percival[/name]. Not bad but I knew one growing up who was teased constantly.
[name]Fredrick[/name] - I prefer the [name]Frederick[/name] spelling but it’s a fine name.
[name]Soren[/name] - Ok but the sound is trendy (eg. an/en/in etc).
[name]Lionel[/name] - A name from the Middle Ages that means “lion”.
I don’t like…
[name]Dudley[/name] -Personally, I would avoid any name with the word “dud” in it.
[name]Irving[/name] - this man is playing bridge with his friends [name]Orville[/name] and [name]Milton[/name] in a [name]Florida[/name] retirement home.
[name]Fletcher[/name] - a dated occupational name
[name]Sufjan[/name] - the meaning “comes with a sword” is a little too violent for my comfort level.
[name]Augustus[/name] - handsome, uncommon, ancient, meaningful, love the nn [name]Augie[/name]!
