Picking a name with multiple pronunciations

I love the name [name_f]Eva[/name_f] when it’s pronounced ee-va, but I don’t like the ay-va pronunciation.
I live in the UK, and I think ee-va is the standard pronunciation here, although I have met a fair few ay-vas with this spelling.
I really love the name, but do you think the pronunciation would be counterintuitive for some people?
For those of you who’ve chosen names with multiple accepted pronunciations: is it difficult constantly having to correct people? Have you ever regretted your choice because of this?

I’d pronounce it ee-va, partly to distinguish it from the name [name_f]Ava[/name_f], and also because I dislike [name_f]Ava[/name_f]. I’m from the Midwest US, and idk how other people around here would say it. The only [name_f]Eva[/name_f] I’ve actually met though pronounced it [name_f]Ava[/name_f]. I think pronunciations are easy to correct, much easier than spelling for instance. It’s a 3-letter, 2-syllable name. She’ll be fine.

In the US -

[name_f]Eva[/name_f] is pronounced EE-vah

[name_f]Ava[/name_f] is pronounced AY-vah

Those are the common pronunciations in the US and I can’t imagine there’d be that much confusion with such simple names

[name_f]Eva[/name_f] would be pronounced Ay-va to Spanish speakers. Otherwise, I have heard it as Ee-va in the US and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] as Ay-va.

To me, [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is pronounced Eh-va, although I do know someone who goes by Ee-va.

I’m like the previous poster, [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is eh-vah to me.
But if I were in the US/UK and met an [name_f]Eva[/name_f] I’d assume that the pronunciation was ee-vah. If it’s your favorite name you should use it anyway, the worst thing that could happen is she has to correct a few people here and there

As a [name_u]Brit[/name_u], if it helps, I would also pronounce it ee-va. I am familiar with the ay-va pronunciation but it is not of common use in our country I don’t think.

I think unless you come from a spanish/latin background you’re probably going to pronounce it as Ee-va.
