Picky Hubby!

My husband is so picky. He insist our boys name are strong and don’t sound “made up”. So nothing trendy will fly with him for a boys name. Problem is our last name is [name]SMITH[/name]. The most popular last name ever. So names lie [name]Jack[/name] and [name]John[/name] are OUT because I don’t want our child to be the 15,000’th “[name]Jack[/name] [name]Smith[/name]” in the city we live in!

As for the girls, he isn’t as picky, he’s okay with something a bit “different” as long as it sounds feminine. Which is my complete opposite of style, as I like names like [name]Lark[/name] and Row!

Suggestions for boy names that are strong but not too common??
Suggestions for girls names that are a bit different but also feminine?

Thank you Thank you Thank you!

To me, these boy names are strong, not too unusual, nor too common:

[name]Baxter[/name]
[name]Jonas[/name]

For a girl: Coming up with “different” names is not my forte, but this one might fit the bill and is definitely feminine:

[name]Sariah[/name] (I think this would be especially wonderful with [name]Smith[/name]!)

Can I suggest delving into your family history for names? Go back far enough and you should find some unique and legitimate names. Our last name is [name]Johnson[/name] so we need unique names as well. I have found several candidates through my ancestry.com research ([name]Henrik[/name], [name]Anders[/name], [name]Finn[/name], [name]Valentin[/name], Torleif). Good [name]Luck[/name]!
