I’ve always liked [name_u]Piper[/name_u], despite it not really “going” with the rest of my taste. Although, I’ve noticed quite a few people have a soft spot for [name_u]Piper[/name_u] yet a majority of their taste falls more in with mine. It definitely doesn’t remind me of smoking; it reminds me of a piper player (as in [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Piper[/name_u]…). It’s very whimsical, sweet and fun. I know a [name_u]Piper[/name_u] in her 30’s and it fits her very well. She’s gorgeous, artsy, fun and caring.
That was pretty harsh that your sister said that. Did you tell her how that hurt your feelings? Does she have any children of her own? Most parents understand how sacred and serious child naming is so you need to remain respectful. My dad didn’t love the name I chose for my daughter, but he loves her to pieces which I’m sure your sister will love [name_u]Piper[/name_u] whether she loves her name or not.
I love [name_u]Piper[/name_u] being paired with a more girly, sophisticated name such as [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is gorgeous!
I love [name_u]Piper[/name_u], and it definitely does not make me think of smoking! Like a pp, it makes me think of a piper as in someone who plays the instrument, which has a musical association and to me a really whimsical feel to it. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] is also spunky, which is great.

I think it’s fun, but still feels very namelike. I like that it’s a simple spelling and pronunciation.
I connect it with playing a flute way more than with smoking.
I know a 9 year old [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and it’s great on her.
Very distinctive without being silly.
