Place name for girl

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a B or V name for baby sister to Benjamin “Benji” and Vincent “Vinny”.

I came across Barcelona and I cannot let it go, I honestly love it! I think I could call her “Lola” for a nickname. However, a lot of family members have discouraged it. I have always liked Sicily and I was considering Valentina Sicily so throw in a V.

Bottom line, Barcelona vs Sicily?
Or is Barcelona very far out?

Thank you!

i personally much prefer [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] to [name_f]Barcelona[/name_f]. Have you considered [name_f]Verona[/name_f]? A V place-name with a similar sound to [name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] that might be more easily worn

Take or leave, but I wouldn’t do a B or a V name when you have three kids - just means someone is going to be the odd person out/ bring imbalance, and I prefer when all kids have their own starting letter / initial.

I also think Barcelona isn’t especially flattering as a person’s name/ for a girl - the Barce bit and given people from there say it differently. So of these, I would choose Sicily (but I would then probably use Cicely or Cecily nn Ceci because I think they go better with your boys’).

If you want a place name, how about a non V or B, like:

Adelaide (Daisy, Laidy)*
Avalon (Vali, Loni, Ava)*
Cambria* (Cami, Bria)
Camden (might read masc with all the other N endings)
Delphi
Dover
Genova
Holland (Holly, Lolly, Lola!)*
Lucerne
London
Odessa
Olympia
Ravello*
Samara
Savannah
Sistine
Siena*
Wellesley

*my faves

Or what about a different long name for Lola, like:

Dolores
Lourdes
Paloma
Eloise
Lenora
Penelope
And Charlotte & Florence both give the nn Lola & are place names.

Apart from Lourdes, I would use all the names on this bottom list. I like Lourdes too, just not sure I would actually use myself.

[name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] seems a little too out-there to use as a name but there are so many creative choices being used now so it wouldn’t be too big of a deal as long as you’re alright with a pretty high level of name fuss!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] is gorgeous and I also second the suggestions of [name_f]Verona[/name_f] and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]!

[name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] is gorgeous [name_f][/name_f]- I would go with that!!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] is intriguing [name_f][/name_f]- not sure I super love the sound, but that might be because I’ve never considered it before? [name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] ‘Lola’ could be cute, though albeit very different in style to her brothers if that bothers you

I think [name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] is a very bold choice however I think could work ultimately you get kids called [name_f]Alabama[/name_f] so why can’t [name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] work? However I I don’t really love [name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] I also think she sounds a little off with your older kiddos older more classic names. I’m also not overly keen on sharing initials especially in a sibling set of three because one of the siblings will appear to be on the side lines of the theme. I love [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] she’s very feminine, bold and romantic. If it was me I would probably switch the name around using [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] then each child has their own initial. I also think maybe using just [name_f]Lola[/name_f] up front I think [name_f]Lola[/name_f] works well. You could have [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] or [name_f]Paloma[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

Some other place names that I think could be more fitting with your boys:
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Siena[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], [name_f]Geneva[/name_f], [name_f]Skye[/name_f] (as in [name_f]Isle[/name_f] of Skye), [name_f]Abilene[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_f]Holland[/name_f], [name_f]Sydney[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f] (Athens), [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] (means from Rome) & [name_f]Devon[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

I’ll suggest Virginia, Viviana, Bronte, Briony, Bristol, Valencia, Bridget, and Vivia

I also second those before me who said Valentina  Barcelona is pretty to say but I feel like it wouldn’t translate well with other people? I think it is a little too far out. But of course, it matters most what you love.

Your sons have magnificent names!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] is intriguing, but perhaps a bit too much, especially next to your children’s names that are very traditional. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Barcelona[/name_f] is adventurous but also not very intuitive.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Sicily[/name_f] is beautiful! I believe [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] works in your sibset because its sound is quite similar to [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]. [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] is an amazing place!
[name_f][/name_f]I adore the name [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]. It’s sweetness and meaning are gorgeous. [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] or [name_f]Sicily[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] would be lovely!

[name_f][/name_f]

I adore the suggestion of [name_f]Verona[/name_f]! [name_f]Simona[/name_f] may check your criteria as well.
