This is so interesting!

#7 on the girls list really stood out to me. I meet an insane amount of Add-uh-lins out in the real world. I rarely or never hear Add-uh-line (and I love it, but dislike the ‘lin’ pronunciation.) I was very surprised to not see [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f], [name_f]Adalynn[/name_f], [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Addilyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Adelynn[/name_f] not in the top 100. But adding up the spots where all of those spellings are in the top 1,000 plus [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] being in the top 100 (which some people may pronounce the ‘lin’ way), it all makes sense.

I also feel like I hear Are-ee-uh a lot more than #23, but [name_u]Arya[/name_u], [name_f]Ariya[/name_f], Ariyan& [name_f]Ariah[/name_f] are also in the top 1,000.

I hear [name_f]Isla[/name_f] almost as much as Ad-uh-lin, & it moves up from #36 to #15 taking all of the spellings into account.

Nothing stuck out too much on the boy list, except for [name_u]Jackson[/name_u]. I hear a lot of [name_u]Jackson[/name_u], & it’s #23 with that spelling but #3 on the playground list. Makes sense to me.

Thanks for sharing.

Does the SS data reflect just first names or does it include middle names in the count?

[name_m]Just[/name_m] first names! There is no comprehensive middle name count (as far as I know), unfortunately.
