So, I’m still deciding here, keep thinking we’ve got it and then another name comes in to play. I’ve been thinking about the name [name]Alina[/name]. I really like it. I like that its an “A” name and I like the way it sounds and that its not too common here in the U.S. The other names I still like are [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Violet[/name], though I think I might throw out [name]Violet[/name] because my sons name is [name]Isaac[/name] and I’m not sure they sound great together with the long " I" sound in both. So which girls name do you like best? Is [name]Alina[/name] a good choice? Thanks!
I like [name]Aline[/name] (“ah-LEEN” or “ay-LEEN”) and [name]Alida[/name], but [name]Alina[/name] doesn’t do much for me. It feels a little insubstantial next to [name]Isaac[/name] imo.
[name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] works just fine to me. I think it might be a bit nit picky to dump a name for containing “i”. But I may be biased as I love the name [name]Violet[/name].
[name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] works OK too, but be prepared for a lot of people questioning how religious you are. If you are very religious, or don’t mind, then that’s fine. But I found that when we mentioned using a name that occurs in the bible, as we already have a [name]Noah[/name], people tend to ask if we are very religious.
[name]Annabel[/name] has never done it for me. It’s cute and it’s pretty, but it feels like a very safe choice - it is one of those choices you can’t rally go wrong with. It’s classic, it’s pretty, feminine and I’ve never met anyone who’s said “Oh I hate the name [name]Annabel[/name]!”, but it’s… well… it’s a tad boring. To me anyway, it feels more like middlename material.
[name]Alina[/name] - It doesn’t really do much for me either. I don’t know why. It is pretty, it’s feminine and it isn’t over-done, but I think it may be the same as [name]Annabel[/name].
My favourite among your names have to be [name]Violet[/name].
Hello and congratulations! All the names you’ve chosen are lovely but I feel that [name]Violet[/name] goes beautifully with [name]Isaac[/name] and is such a pretty name. [name]Don[/name]'t over think and stress too much, trust your instincts
[name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] are beautiful together!
I love the name [name]Alina[/name]! I think [name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Alina[/name] go well together.
I love [name]Violet[/name] but if you are not sure how about [name]Eva[/name] [name]Violet[/name]? All nice names good taste.
I actually think [name]Alina[/name] is your most interesting choice and that it actually goes the best with [name]Isaac[/name]. Your other names are beautiful as well, but [name]Alina[/name] stands out among them. I really like its international yet familiar vibe (although [name]Eva[/name] shares this quality as well).
My favorite of your choices is [name]Annabel[/name]. It relates to [name]Isaac[/name] with the vowel beginning but is distinct in sound and has 3 syllables instead of 2.
You’re already uncomfortable with [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] has pronunciation issues plus there are so many girls named [name]Eva[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name] etc.
I feel [name]Alina[/name] is confusing – again so many similar names that you will need to endlessly spell and pronounce – and relatively old-fashioned, similar to [name]Eileen[/name], [name]Alana[/name], [name]Elena[/name] etc which are dated.
Good luck!
This is really interesting to me because a girl I know named [name]Alina[/name] has never had any problems with her name! I also wouldn’t consider it old-fashioned (it wasn’t even in the top 1,000 until 1975 [at 983] and is currently in the top 500 [at 265]).
Good point about the religious aspect, one reason we didn’t want to use [name]Noah[/name] if we have another boy!
