Hmmm, tricky. Personally I prefer the look of the spelling [name_m]Bo[/name_m]. However, I have known two people called [name_m]Bo[/name_m] in my live and the female had it spelt ‘[name_m]Bo[/name_m]’ and the male ‘[name_m]Beau[/name_m]’ so I do think of the ‘[name_m]Beau[/name_m]’ spelling as being more masculine.
Also, where I live I would worry about there being an issue with the ‘[name_m]Bo[/name_m]’ spelling because ‘[name_m]BO[/name_m]’ is commonly used as a term for ‘body odour’. I don’t know if this is the case outside the UK, though.
So, I’d probably go for ‘[name_m]Beau[/name_m]’ but I really think it’s a personal decision and something you need to feel comfortable with either way.
Although I generally prefer [name_m]Beau[/name_m], [name_m]Bo[/name_m] is a legitimate Scandinavian spelling and since you identify most with this version, it’s the one to choose for yourself. I also think [name_m]Bo[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] looks better written out as well. Good luck!
I prefer [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m].
I have a slight preference for [name_m]Beau[/name_m], because it does look more masculine and, well, handsome (I’m [name_m]French[/name_m], so of course I’m going to be partial to the literal meaning of “[name_m]Beau[/name_m]”!! ). That being said, [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] as a middle name totally disambiguates [name_m]Bo[/name_m], and if it’s the spelling you feel closest to, you should go with your gut !
But both are great choices !
I would definitely choose the one you already identify with and use as a nickname. I actually find [name_m]Beau[/name_m] the more feminine looking spelling.
