So hubby and I were discussing names earlier this morning. As usual we can’t agree on many at all. I love more classic and sophisticated names while his style is more unusual and out there. With that being said, the only classic girls names he will even consider are [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Alexandra[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Out of these three, I prefer [name]Victoria[/name] but I absolutely hate all the nicknames associated with it. It doesn’t bother me to the point that I wouldn’t use the name, I just don’t want people calling her [name]Vicky[/name], [name]Tori[/name] or even worse [name]Vick[/name]. I prefer picking the child’s nn based on personality anyway. What are your opinions? Also, what middle name would you pair with [name]Victoria[/name]? I’m very picky and nothing seems to flow just right.
As for [name]Alexandra[/name], I’m not a fan of the harsh X sound. In my last thread, I asked opinions on the name variant [name]Alessandra[/name]. [name]IMO[/name], it’s much softer sounding and feminine and she could still go by [name]Alex[/name] which DH loves. The only problem is, we just found out a friend of ours is naming his daughter [name]Alessandra[/name] [name]Joy[/name] which is beautiful but obviously we can’t use it now so it’d have to be [name]Alexandra[/name]. I’m trying to love it, I really am lol. Are there any other variations of [name]Alexandra[/name] that are a bit softer and feminine sounding?
Last but not least there’s [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Although a timeless classic, it’s just [name]WAY[/name] too popular for my taste. I’d probably use it as a middle name if anything and would probably go with the spelling [name]Elisabeth[/name]. To me it just looks softer and prettier.
Thanks in advance for all your feedback As always I look forward to hearing all your responses.
