Please help us name our triplets!

[name]Penelope[/name] - also seems to be taking the nickname [name]Poppy[/name] a lot, so if you like that that prevents [name]Penny[/name]/[name]Gwenny[/name]. If you like it it also might let you get [name]Elinor[/name] because she can be [name]Nellie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] can be [name]Poppy[/name]. It is very Greek to [name]Gwendolen[/name]'s Welshness, but I think the literary point you are trying to make with the names basically does away with that concern! They do also just sound good together!

[name]Elinor[/name] – I think this English/Scandinavian name sounds very nice with Welsh [name]Gwendolen[/name] – old-fashioned, doesn’t end in -a or -ee. If you are worried it looks small next to [name]Gwendolen[/name], the spelling [name]Eleanor[/name] steps it up a notch. Not the [name]Austen[/name] spelling, but a name with plenty of history (maybe not so much literary?) in its own right. If you wanted [name]Penelope[/name] to be [name]Nellie[/name], [name]Elinor[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name] could be [name]Nora[/name]?

[name]Bryony[/name] – pretty, and I like the Welsh feel, but very boyish. If you’re going to use B I’d much recommend [name]Beatrice[/name] for [name]Bea[/name]. You could get [name]Ry[/name], [name]Ryon[/name] from this as well.

[name]Beatrice[/name] – I think it goes great with [name]Gwendolen[/name]! Old-fashioned, doesn’t end in -a or -ee, and it’s literary beyond [name]Shakespeare[/name] – [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Potter[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] in [name]Dante[/name]. I think [name]Beatrix[/name] is maybe a little spunkier together with [name]Gwendolen[/name], but [name]Beatrice[/name] is just fine!

[name]Eloise[/name] – could also use [name]Lola[/name], [name]Lottie[/name], [name]Lois[/name].

[name]Louisa[/name] – not liking [name]Lou[/name] is something of an issue. L(o)ulette? L(o)ula? Sia (by a stretch)?

[name]Aurora[/name] – Goes OK with [name]Gwendolen[/name]. Not as well as some of the others, but acceptably. [name]Rory[/name] goes well with [name]Gwennie[/name] so that resolves it some.

[name]Phoebe[/name] – goes OK with [name]Gwendolen[/name]. If you use that and [name]Penelope[/name] that’s two very Greek names, so the third name would need to really balance it in my opinion. Like maybe [name]Rowena[/name].

Any of your new “likes” could work.

I think [name]Gwendolen[/name] with [name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Elinor[/name]/[name]Eleanor[/name], and [name]Penelope[/name] is a great set! But there are many possibilities!

You seem to be staying away from some fine choices ending in -n – [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name]. That’s fine if so, though I don’t think you have to. Am I right?

I don’t blame you for taking a rest from boys for now! But [name]Leopold[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name] keeps coming to my mind.

Best wishes!

Congrats on your triplets! You have such fantastic taste in names … now, do you know the sex of the babies? I feel as though there were mainly girls names listed.

On your narrowed down list:

[name]Penelope[/name] - [name]Penny[/name] and [name]Gwennie[/name] rhyme, and that seems like a bit of a dealbreaker for me … regardless, [name]Penelope[/name] is not my favorite name you have here.

[name]Elinor[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this. Feels just in tune with [name]Gwendolen[/name], such a great set.

[name]Helena[/name] - same as [name]Elinor[/name], love it! Great nn options, [name]Nellie[/name]/[name]Nelle[/name]/[name]Lena[/name]/[name]Leni[/name], etc.

[name]Briony[/name] - beautiful name, and Atonement is a fantastic book. Nicknames … hmm, Nony? Brinny? [name]Bri[/name]? [name]Just[/name] B? Its tough, because this is a gorgeous name

[name]Beatrice[/name] - this name is nice, and very popular around nameberry, but I agree that it may not be up to par with [name]Gwendolen[/name].

[name]Eloise[/name] - Talk about a literary connection! What little girl wouldnt [name]LOVE[/name] to be named after [name]Eloise[/name]? This is darling.

[name]Louisa[/name] - I agree with the nickname issue, [name]Lulu[/name] is cute, but [name]Lou[/name] isn’t as endearing for me. Nice literary connection, but [name]Louisa[/name] doesn’t feel young/fresh/spunky like [name]Gwendolen[/name] does.

[name]Harriet[/name] - Not a fan of this

[name]Aurora[/name] - [name]Aurora[/name] is trickier to say, especially out of little mouths! However, its a very feminine, charming princess name with a fantastic nickname.

[name]Phoebe[/name]- This does go very nicely with [name]Gwendolen[/name], and such a great literary reference.

[name]Alice[/name] - love [name]Alice[/name], and while I strongly dislike “unique” spellings, what do you think of [name]Alys[/name], the welsh version of [name]Alice[/name]? I prefer [name]Alice[/name], but [name]Alys[/name] would avoid the popularity factor.

[name]Jane[/name] - this is a nice name, but it seems a little incomplete next to [name]Gwendolen[/name].

Other names we’re considering:
[name]Matilda[/name], [name]Susannah[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rowena[/name] - all nice, but not favorites
[name]Philippa[/name] - [name]Pippa[/name]! [name]LOVE[/name] THIS! [name]Ive[/name] been crushing on this name, and would love to see it used
[name]Vivian[/name]- also love this, but spelled [name]Vivienne[/name]. So sophisticated and beautiful.

Combos I like: [name]Gwendolen[/name] and …

[name]Phillipa[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Elinor[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Briony[/name] (favorites)

[name]Phillipa[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], and [name]Elinor[/name]
[name]Elinor[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Helena[/name]
[name]Alice[/name], [name]Helena[/name], and [name]Briony[/name]

Congrats on the triplets! I love the name [name]Gwendolen[/name] btw. The Importance of being [name]Earnest[/name] is one of my favorite plays.

[name]Penelope[/name]- While you might choose to call her [name]Nellie[/name], there is nothing to keep her from choosing the nn [name]Penny[/name] when she is older. [name]Penny[/name] and [name]Gwen/name are too similar in my opinion. Although, I do love the name.

[name]Briony[/name]- Hosently, this name has always felt a little masculine to me.

[name]Beatrice[/name] - Nope, [name]Gwendolen[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] are perfect together in my mind.

[name]Eloise[/name] - I love love [name]Eloise[/name]. [name]Gwendolen[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] are made for each other. I wouldnt worry about being lost in all the Ellies. [name]Eloise[/name] has lots of nns. [name]Elsie[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Elle[/name]. Plus I have never met a single [name]Eloise[/name].

[name]Louisa[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Louisa[/name]. I would use the nn [name]Lula[/name] or even [name]Lola[/name]. I have alos heard people use the nn [name]Lucy[/name].

[name]Harriet[/name] - [name]Hattie[/name] is great but I dont care for [name]Harriet[/name].

[name]Aurora[/name] - Too disney princess for me. Plus it is extremly hard to say. I cant imagine a toddler being able to pronounce all those R’s correctly either.

[name]Phoebe[/name]- This goes perfectly with [name]Gwendolen[/name]. [name]Phoebe[/name] is spunky, yet refined, classic but not at all stuffy. [name]Daphne[/name] also comes to mind.

[name]Alice[/name] - I’ve never met an [name]Alice[/name]. It would make a nice mn also.

[name]Jane[/name] - Hmm yes and no. The style of [name]Gwendolen[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] are very similar but the different lengths bothers me. Again, I think [name]Jane[/name] would make a great mn

Other names we’re considering:
[name]Matilda[/name] - Its okay, the nn [name]Mattie[/name] would be my only concern.
[name]Susannah[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name] - OOOh This goes nicely with [name]Gwendolen[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name] - Feels heavy
[name]Philippa[/name] - [name]Pippa[/name]!- eh, again heavy imo
[name]Rowena[/name] - I dont care for this
[name]Vivian[/name]- [name]Love[/name] it

You have some great names already!
My favorite pairing:
[name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], and [name]Susannah[/name]. “[name]Gwen[/name], [name]Bee[/name], [name]Elsie[/name], and [name]Sunny[/name]”
My second favorite:
[name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], and [name]Susannah[/name]- All three syllable, nns will be needed! I’d use “[name]Gwen[/name], [name]Nellie[/name], [name]Bea[/name], and [name]Sunny[/name] or [name]Sukey[/name]”

Others, sorry for repeats:
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Edith[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Elinor[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]

Thank you all for the responses! It really helps to not only know your opinions on the names, but also which ones you think fit best with [name]Gwendolen[/name].”

It may be sort of backwards, but I have my heart set on having a [name]Rory[/name] and a [name]Nellie[/name]. Of course, I seem to change my mind every 5 minutes and I have no idea if any of the triplets are girls, but they just feel like they’d fit my daughters. I know this sounds crazy, but I’m now determined to find full names that make it work.

Our options:”
[name]Rory[/name] -”[name]Lorelei[/name] or [name]Rowena[/name]
[name]Nellie[/name] -”[name]Elinor[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name]”

I think that there are two distinctive ways that the sibset could go. With [name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Elinor[/name], I think the sibset is sticking more with the Welsh origin. I know [name]Elinor[/name] isn’t Welsh, but it feels sort of similar in style, at least more so than the Greek [name]Penelope[/name]. But on the other hand, we could go in a more international direction, paying less attention to the names’ origins. With [name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name], we’re definitely abandoning the Welsh theme but I still think the names go well together. What do you think?”

At the moment, I think I’m leaning towards [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Elinor[/name] because [name]Dashiell[/name] is our #1 boys name and they seem to go better with [name]Dashiell[/name] than [name]Lorelei[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]. But, I don’t know. [name]Do[/name] you agree?”

I feel like someone is going to comment on the fact that [name]Gwendolen[/name] and [name]Rowena[/name] share the ‘wen’, but it doesn’t bother us. [name]Rowena[/name] would go by [name]Rory[/name] at least 90% of the time, and the names don’t rhyme, so it is not a factor for us.”

So which sibset do you prefer?

[name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]
or
[name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Rowena[/name], and [name]Elinor[/name]

Thanks,”
[name]Julia[/name]

PS
@ [name]Layla[/name] - no, we don’t know the sexes, and I’m not sure if we’re going to find out. We found out with [name]Gwen[/name], but kind of want to be surprised. We’re just focusing on girls names because our boys list feels very uninspired at the moment.”

[name]Even[/name] though I love [name]Elinor[/name] I’m going to have to go with [name]Gwendolyn[/name], [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Lorelei[/name]. I think they go great with [name]Dashiell[/name] as well as a set. FWIW, I would go with more of an international theme. Since you said you need several names and also prefer a literary connection with the name, it will give you more options and I think be more fun since you seem to have adventurous taste like I do. I love eclectic sets that compliment each other, where each name is unique in feel and sound, but “go” together, it may be a weak metaphor but it’s like an abstract painting, I guess. I would recommend the french [name]Eleanor[/name] if you have 3 girls but having a [name]Rory[/name] and a [name]Nora[/name] would probably be a bad tongue twister.

@kashed22 - thanks for the reply! You’re right, going with the international theme would give us more options and that’s definitely something to keep in mind. I’m pretty sure we won’t be having any more children though, so I’m not sure how important it is. If we can find 3 names of an origin similar to [name]Gwendolen[/name], then maybe we should go with those. It’s just so hard! I do like [name]Eleanor[/name], and I think the length looks better than [name]Elinor[/name] with [name]Gwendolen[/name], but [name]Elinor[/name] has such a great literary connection.

Would love your thoughts on our boys list.

[name]Dashiell[/name] nn [name]Dash[/name] - pretty sure we will use this name if we have a boy. My husband loves it and I like it too. It’s so, well, dashing.

Other than that, we’re somewhat lost:

[name]Jude[/name] - Again, my husband loves it. To him, Hey [name]Jude[/name] makes up for the lack of literary connection.

[name]Oliver[/name] - I love this, but is it too popular? Plus, I don’t love the nn options. [name]Oliver[/name] Twist is great though.

[name]Atticus[/name] - We love the To Kill a Mockingbird reference. Not sure about a nickname though.

[name]Rhys[/name] - Not sure about a literary connection, I’ll have to look it up, we we really like this. Is it too effeminate with girls being named [name]Reese[/name] though?

[name]Archer[/name] - I [name]LOVE[/name] the Age of Innocence, but I’m not sure we love the nn [name]Archie[/name].

[name]Sebastian[/name] - Great literary connections, but I’m worried it sounds a little pretentious. WDYT?

[name]Holden[/name] - I absolutely love this name. It’s an amazing literary connection and such a great name. But is it trendy? [name]Will[/name] he get lost in the Aidans, Braedons, and Jadens?

So, what do you think of:
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Holden[/name]

We’d love suggestions of similar names too. ”

Thanks,
[name]Julia[/name]

Would love your thoughts on our boys list.

[name]Dashiell[/name] nn [name]Dash[/name] - pretty sure we will use this name if we have a boy. My husband loves it and I like it too. It’s so, well, dashing. =[name]Love[/name]!

Other than that, we’re somewhat lost:

[name]Jude[/name] - Again, my husband loves it. To him, Hey [name]Jude[/name] makes up for the lack of literary connection. *Actully it does have a lit connection which is [name]Jude[/name] [name]Law[/name]'s namesake “[name]Jude[/name] The Obscure” by [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Hardy[/name], also [name]Love[/name]!

[name]Oliver[/name] - I love this, but is it too popular? Plus, I don’t love the nn options. [name]Oliver[/name] Twist is great though. =[name]Love[/name] but it has cracked the US top 100

[name]Atticus[/name] - We love the To Kill a Mockingbird reference. Not sure about a nickname though. =I love this and the namesake from TKAM is even better but it seems becoming very trendy believe it or not

[name]Rhys[/name] - Not sure about a literary connection, I’ll have to look it up, we we really like this. Is it too effeminate with girls being named [name]Reese[/name] though? =This is one of my favorite boys names, I love this spelling and no I don’t think it’s effeminate at all, [name]Reese[/name] is unisexbut [name]Rhys[/name] is a traditional Welsh boys name, I may use it some day

[name]Archer[/name] - I [name]LOVE[/name] the Age of Innocence, but I’m not sure we love the nn [name]Archie[/name]. = I like this, love nn [name]Archie[/name]

[name]Sebastian[/name] - Great literary connections, but I’m worried it sounds a little pretentious. WDYT?
= I don’t think [name]Sebastian[/name] is pretentious at all, I think it would go great with your girls picks so far, one of my favorites, and nns [name]Seb[/name] or [name]Bas[/name]/[name]Baz[/name]

[name]Holden[/name] - I absolutely love this name. It’s an amazing literary connection and such a great name. But is it trendy? [name]Will[/name] he get lost in the Aidans, Braedons, and Jadens?
= I don’t think it’s anything like [name]Aidan[/name] etc. And yes one of my fave lit connections as well. [name]Even[/name] if it becomes more common/popular I wouldn’t call it trendy

So, what do you think of:
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Holden[/name]

We’d love suggestions of similar names too. ”

Thanks,
[name]Julia[/name]

Seriously, you guys have an amazing list. I like every name on it! My favorites are [name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Rhys[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]. I left off [name]Oliver[/name] just because it is becoming very popular no matter what continent you are on now and that may be an issue for you.

@kashed22- Thank you so much for the feedback. I don’t know how we didn’t think of ‘[name]Jude[/name] the Obscure’! Now that we realize there is a strong literary connection, [name]Jude[/name] is definitely a front runner. What would you think of [name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] for 3 boys? [name]Dash[/name], [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name]. Short, one syllable names would be nice when I’m chasing after them.

My pick by a country mile is [name]Rowena[/name], [name]Elinor[/name] and [name]Gwendolen[/name].

As mentioned before [name]Penelope[/name] is not my cup of tea and I have always felt that [name]Lorelai[/name] is trying too hard, however, I love [name]Laurel[/name].

So, we need three names plus [name]Gwendolen[/name] don’t we? If so, my pick [name]Rowena[/name], [name]Elinor[/name] and [name]Laurel[/name].

I will comment on the boy’s list later.

rollo

I totally understand both sides of the argument and either way you go, the triplets will have beautiful names! I like the length of [name]Eleanor[/name] better with [name]Gwendolen[/name] as well, even though I understand the importance of the [name]Elinor[/name] spelling and connection. I’m sure we could find [name]Eleanor[/name] literary connections, though, I’m sure you want the connection to be meaningful as well. I don’t think you would be betraying [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] or the integrity of the namesake by spelling [name]Eleanor[/name] differently either, but that’s up to you and I’m sure some other berries out there will probably call me a blasphemer for saying that!

No problem [name]Julia[/name]! [name]Happy[/name] to help! Literary connections + names for triplet’s= a name nerd-a-palooza for me! I think [name]Jude[/name], [name]Rhys[/name] and [name]Dash[/name] sound great together! So far that’s my favorite mix of your boy names. And you’re right, you’re definitely going to have to have short nn’s that you love saying over and over again! I also still like [name]Holden[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name] but the nn’s aren’t as obvious. I have a 1 syllable name that is actually on the NB list of names w/ no nn’s but my parents still managed to come up with a nn or “pet” name for me.

I don’t know if you have done research yet for [name]Rhys[/name] but I found the lit connections: [name]Laurell[/name] K. [name]Hamilton[/name]'s [name]Merry[/name] [name]Gentry[/name] book series, [name]Gail[/name] [name]Carson[/name] Levine’s The Two Princesses of Bamarre and [name]Rhys[/name] [name]Lewis[/name], the eponymous subject of an 1885 novel by [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Owen[/name].

Some other possibilities: [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Jude[/name], [name]Holden[/name], [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] and [name]Archer[/name], [name]Holden[/name] and [name]Dashiell[/name] as possible combos. I also love the names [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] and think they could fit in the mix as well if you haven’t nixed them yet.

I prefer [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Elinor[/name] with [name]Gwendolen[/name] rather than [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Lorelei[/name] and I agree that [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Nellie[/name] would be better with [name]Dashiell[/name]. Here are my opinions on your boys list with my faves in bold. Good luck in your name quest!

[name]Dashiell[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it but it seems like it’s from a different style family than Gwedolen.
[name]Jude[/name] - This is a wonderful Biblical gem with a great literary association if a bit short next to [name]Gwendolen[/name].
[name]Oliver[/name] - What’s not to love! I think it’s perfect with [name]Gwendolen[/name]!
[name]Atticus[/name] - Very trendy now but strong and masculine like most names ending in “us”. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Marcus[/name], [name]Cassius[/name], [name]Lucius[/name], [name]Rufus[/name], [name]Julius[/name] or [name]Thaddeus[/name]?
[name]Rhys[/name] - Ok but a bit short next to [name]Gwendolen[/name].
[name]Archer[/name] - Reminds me of jailbird [name]Jeffrey[/name] [name]Archer[/name] and it sounds a little too upper class (read: snobbish). Other alternatives: [name]Spencer[/name], [name]Porter[/name], [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Faulkner[/name] or [name]Calder[/name].
[name]Sebastian[/name] - I love this saint’s name and [name]Shakespeare[/name] did too!
[name]Holden[/name] - Too trendy like a lot of names ending in “en”. Try something different like [name]Tennyson[/name] or [name]Ellison[/name] - two names with literary associations.
Other suggestions: [name]Julian[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Leo[/name], [name]Simon[/name], [name]Felix[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Everett[/name], [name]Elliott[/name], [name]August[/name], [name]Miles[/name]/ [name]Milo[/name], [name]Oscar[/name], [name]Silas[/name], [name]Rupert[/name], [name]Auberon[/name]/[name]Oberon[/name], [name]Vincent[/name], [name]Winslow[/name], [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Tobias[/name], [name]Dominic[/name], [name]Lysander[/name], [name]Hawthorne[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Xavier[/name], [name]Elias[/name], [name]Roman[/name], [name]Raphael[/name], [name]Lucas[/name], [name]Roland[/name], [name]Leopold[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Conrad[/name], [name]Ludovic[/name], [name]Finnegan[/name], [name]Caspian[/name], [name]Balthazar[/name], [name]Ulysses[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Caedmon[/name], Aidric, [name]Percival[/name], [name]Barnaby[/name], [name]Benedict[/name], [name]Cedric[/name], [name]Bartholomew[/name], [name]Horatio[/name], [name]Casimir[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], [name]Tristan[/name], [name]Cormac[/name], [name]Perry[/name], [name]Leander[/name], [name]Hector[/name], [name]Linus[/name], [name]Constantine[/name]

[name]Tennyson[/name] and [name]Ellison[/name] seem way more trendy and star baby IMHO than namesake of the main character of a book that got me and quite many a youngin’ through some very hard times. Yes, [name]Bill[/name] [name]Murray[/name] used it for a son but that’s [name]Bill[/name] [name]Murray[/name]! That adds to the name for me. I don’t know, [name]Holden[/name] seems English and a classic surname while the other’s sound more feminine like [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Teri[/name] Hatcher’s daughter. It’s not that they are not good names or literary suggestions, I just think they sound very similar to the [name]Addison[/name]/any son name trend for girl’s more than [name]Aiden[/name] resemble’s [name]Holden[/name], but that’s just me. I am very passionate about the name (and book) for personal reasons so I don’t mean to seem aggressive, just friendly debate. Thanks, as always, for listening berries!

@ rollo- thanks for voting! I think we’re leaning towards [name]Rowena[/name] and [name]Elinor[/name]. [name]Laurel[/name] is beautiful, but it is a little too similar to the other names. I get a big tongue tied when I try to say it. I look forward to your opinion of our boys list.”

@kashed22 - No, I haven’t had the chance to look up [name]Rhys[/name]’ literary connections, so thanks again! I’m glad you like [name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name]. We had been so unsure about our boys list but all of a sudden those three names seem perfect for us. [name]Love[/name] your other combos too. Thanks again!”

@mischa- thanks for the feedback! I see that you commented that you [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Rhys[/name] are short next to [name]Gwendolen[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think that’s a big deal? I mean, we are naming individuals so I try not to get too caught up in the idea of a sibset. Also, [name]Gwendolen[/name] goes by [name]Gwen[/name] or [name]Gwennie[/name] most of the time, so then it doesn’t seem obvious. Plus, with 4 kids under the age of 3, we want short names (or at least nicknames) so we don’t have to yell out four three syllable names. So do you really think it’s a deal breaker?”

Anyone else?

[name]Dashiell[/name] This is a handsome name and the nn of [name]Dash[/name] is kind of cool
[name]Jude[/name] [name]Love[/name] your husband for being such a Beatles fan. I like it but don’t love it and would prefer to see it in a combo like [name]Harrison[/name] [name]Jude[/name].
[name]Oliver[/name] This is one of nameberries darlings. Nameberryites wax lyrical about it, but it is not for me. I prefer [name]Elliott[/name], combo of [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Lindsay[/name]
[name]Atticus[/name] So handsome, loved the quiet strength of [name]Gregory[/name] Peck in the film. “To Kill a Mockingbird”. As much as I love it I think I would find it a bit too adventuresome for me in the first name spot. I would be able to go with something like [name]Gregory[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] but maybe that is too corny for all the mockingbird fans. Or [name]Calvin[/name] [name]Atticus[/name]?
[name]Rhys[/name] I love [name]Rhys[/name] so smart, edgy and handsome.
[name]Archer[/name] On a scale of 1 to 10 it would be about a 5. I find [name]Archer[/name] a little bit stiff and formal whereas I find [name]Dashiell[/name], fun, handsome and debonair.
[name]Sebastian[/name] I like [name]Sebastian[/name] in the mn spot again in combo with say [name]Lucas[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]. Like you, I feel it is a little too ‘out there’ in the first name spot because it could be seen to be a little prententious, only my opinion, and I still like it, more of a 6.5 out of 10.
[name]Holden[/name] This reminds me of the [name]Holden[/name] car which has been the staple car of most Aussies since WW2. I love [name]Lachlan[/name] though and the cute nn of Lochie.

Some more ideas in addition to those above:

[name]Alister[/name] this goes so well with your girl choices
[name]Mason[/name] it is a little trendy but not too much so
[name]Tristan[/name] I like this with [name]Dashiell[/name] eg [name]Tristan[/name] [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] and [name]James[/name] I never tire of them.
[name]William[/name] ever popular and bound to spike up when [name]Prince[/name] [name]William[/name] marries, nn [name]Will[/name].
[name]David[/name], too plain? However, it spells Welsh to me and would be lovely in either a first or mn spot.
[name]Byron[/name] combo [name]Byron[/name] [name]Michael[/name] I like it with [name]Dashiell[/name] and it doesn’t need a nn.
rollo

I have one tiny suggestion for you on the boys side! I saw the name [name]Rhys[/name] on your list and it reminded me of the name [name]Rhett[/name], which has obvious connections with Gone With the Wind. If you wanted a longer name for [name]Rhett[/name], you could use the name [name]Everett[/name] nn [name]Rhett[/name] which i find smashing with [name]Dashiell[/name]. [name]Dashiell[/name] & [name]Everett[/name] ([name]Dash[/name] & [name]Rhett[/name]) honestly seem perfect together!

Good luck!
