Please read: Problems with ads

@SeaZuno861: I found downloading an AdBlock really helped improve my experience on Nameberry - like you, I enjoyed the site but the ads just ruined it for me. Perhaps this is something you can consider so you can continue using the site?

I agree, the ads have really limited the amount I use nameberry. I understand that nameberry needs ads to make revenue, however other websites are able to have ads that dont block content, cause extreme loading delays and display issues etc. I know you say you can’t control the ads but I know very few other websites (besides they scammy/shady ones) that still have ‘pop up’ ad problems, so I feel like there has to be something that can be done about it. It makes me sad [name_m]Ive[/name_m] used nameberry since 2008 and I love the forums for both name & mommy advice its such a great community but I’m sick of the ads

@EJpuddlejumper

We really need to know the originating URL of the ad if we’re going to be able to get them blocked.

Are you able to close these by clicking the X?

Hey! I have an annoying ad and it can’t be x’d out. The link is: Check off the Basics with Protected Income - Protected Income

These ads are ruining the experience of this website and making it annoying to be on. [name_m]Constant[/name_m] pop ups, can’t always X-out. [name_m]Can[/name_m] they limit the quantity here, it’s so unnecessary.

here, another one. No options to close.

I have AdBlocker as well. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you find that it causes problems on threads? When I open a thread, I always see the first post, but often, the rest of the thread is just white space or I may see one or two posts in the thread, but never the full thread unless I reload over and over again. When I turn off AdBlocker this doesn’t happen.

I experienced this problem frequently when Nameberry first switched over to discord, but I haven’t had it happen to me more recently. I’ve also been continually using an AdBlock, so I’m not sure what the problem was for me, I’m afraid.

Got this lovely ad today.
I usually get the same ad over and over about nasty raw chicken.

Okay, this Paw Patrol ad covers content and won’t go away no matter how many times I refresh the page.

I was about to post something about the Paw Patrol ad too!

Are you able to give me the URL of the ad? I am not seeing this.

Well, I tried just now to click on it, but all it does is start a game. So I have no idea how to get a url for you. :grimacing:

We ask for a URL because if we want to get specific ad blocked, we need to send the originating URL to our ad partner.

I don’t want to see this ad, it triggers me. Is there anything I can do?

Summary

Its URL: https://japan-covid19.japanpolicyforum.jp/society/pt202011112010793.html?dicbo=v1-c967a8b4b8ade4fabd119f82f6f9e866-0036a78e144b70ef556c48e670dc4522ee-g42dmnrug42deljtgjtdsljumjrgillbgq2dilldgaytgobymiytezjrgy

Also sorry for complaining because I know that you can’t choose which ads will be shown, but all my ads are in Japanese or Spanish and they’re often so weird (like, “sitting positions”)
