Please suggest some alternatives

Below are the boys’ names I can see myself using. Can you please suggest some alternatives? It feels like a very tired list. I’ve been so fixated on choosing a girl’s name for our next child that I haven’t thought at all about boy names. If our first child had been a boy she would have been named [name]Finn[/name].

Thanks! I’m very comfortable treading off the beaten path for girl names but sadly not for boys so much and would love some help.

[name]Jonah[/name] (I think it’s a great alternative to [name]Noah[/name], but I love [name]Noah[/name])

Repeats are a sign it’s a good fit : D! But I’m sure I like some of pp’s I didn’t think of when I went through this.

[name]Finn[/name] - [name]Flynn[/name], [name]Flint[/name], [name]Owen[/name], [name]Liam[/name] (or [name]William[/name] nn [name]Liam[/name]), [name]Miles[/name], [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Quinn[/name] (but going feminine), [name]Phinneas[/name], [name]Nolan[/name], [name]Evan[/name], [name]Ewan[/name]
[name]Noah[/name] - [name]Jonah[/name], [name]Judah[/name], [name]Micah[/name], [name]Joel[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Noam[/name], [name]Nolan[/name], [name]Seth[/name], [name]Boaz[/name] (nn [name]Bo[/name]?), [name]Asher[/name], [name]Isaiah[/name], [name]Josiah[/name] (nn [name]Joe[/name]?), [name]Elijah[/name] (nn [name]Eli[/name]?)
[name]Shane[/name] - [name]Zane[/name], [name]Seamus[/name], [name]Ian[/name], [name]John[/name], [name]Shea[/name], [name]Evan[/name], [name]Ewan[/name]
[name]Jack[/name] - [name]John[/name] (nn [name]Jack[/name]), [name]James[/name] (nn [name]Jack[/name]), [name]Jackson[/name] (though I prefer [name]Jack[/name]), [name]Brock[/name], [name]Joseph[/name] (nn [name]Joe[/name]), [name]Mack[/name], [name]Malcolm[/name] nn [name]Mac[/name], [name]Cormac[/name] nn [name]Mack[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps! One trend for both [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Shane[/name] are: short Gaelic names that end in -n, and you may want to look at lists of Gaelic names or use super search to continue that hunt. Good luck!

I’m kinda crushing on [name]Shane[/name]! I really like it. Suggestions:

To go with jesba’s suggestion of [name]Ewan[/name] and Gaelic names, what about [name]Eamon[/name]?

Could you let us know what your first child’s name is? That might help us with baby number 2!

Not really going for a gaelic name. I think that’s just coincidence.

I like [name]Will[/name] but it’s out since it is the name of an ex.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Nico[/name] but my name is [name]Nicole[/name] so that’s too close for me.
Really like [name]Shea[/name] but it’s heavily unisex where I live and I tend to shy away from unisex names.

Other names I like are [name]Todd[/name] and [name]Sage[/name]. Hmmmm, the only theme seems to be one syllable four letter names. But I am absolutely not tied to that.

[name]Noah[/name], [name]Shane[/name] and [name]Todd[/name] all have a sort of 70s vibe going or maybe that’s just me.
