[name]Hi[/name] tfzolghadr, DH really likes [name]Quinlan[/name]. I am a bit concerned that it ends with -lan, the same sound at the end of [name]Evelyn[/name]. To me it sounds a bit like we’re trying to name twins. Hubby thinks since we’d be calling by their nicknames much of the time ([name]Evie[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name]) that it would rarely be a problem.
Last name rhymes with Burdock, by the way.
I voted for [name]Quinlan[/name]! I like [name]Thomas[/name] a lot and that’d be my second choice. Third is [name]Donovan[/name]- I’m not wild about [name]Don[/name] as a kid’s nickname, but I do like the repeated “[name]Do[/name]” sound in your last name, gives it a nice cadence.
I think any of the first 3 names would work wonderfully. They have a similar vintage feel to [name]Evelyn[/name]. I voted for [name]Walter[/name] because it’s less common. I think [name]Walt[/name] and [name]Evie[/name] go together really well.
[name]Quinlan[/name] and [name]Donovan[/name] clash with the classic [name]Evelyn[/name]. They just don’t feel like the same style to me. I also don’t like the matchy name endings. [name]Jack[/name] is a nice, traditional name, but it seems very bland next to [name]Evelyn[/name].
I love [name]Walter[/name]! It reminds me of [name]Anne[/name]'s son in the [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables books so I picture someone kindhearted who’s a dreamer and a romantic at heart.
Well, it looks like I’m in early (slow) labor so I guess it’s today not [name]Saturday[/name]!!! Okay, [name]Donovan[/name] is definitely out, based on this poll. Thanks tfzolghadr for the additional suggestions. [name]Will[/name] show list to DH when he comes back from dropping off our daughter.
I voted for [name]Quinlan[/name]. Not a big fan of most of them. They aren’t my style, but [name]Quinlan[/name] is at least a little unique. [name]How[/name] about [name]Jacques[/name] instead of [name]Jack[/name]?
I like the suggestion someone made of [name]Quentin[/name] instead of [name]Quinlan[/name]. [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Quinlan[/name] feel much different to me, but [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Quentin[/name] both have a vintage vibe.
