Poesia

I came across the word Poesia just now (it means poetry in Spanish), and I was thinking it could be a pretty-sounding name for a girl. What do the Berries think?

It’s exotic sounding and I rather like it! Reminds me a bit of [name]Portia[/name]. You kind of have to say that e the Spanish way or it comes out as sounding like [name]Portia[/name] without the r. Lol

i love it! though not sure on the pronunciation? [name]Po[/name]-Ay-See-[name]Ah[/name]?

[name]Love[/name] the meaning, but…
… how would you pronounce it? It worries me that it has too much teasing potential

Very pretty! I really like it.

LOTS of teasing potential, and its unfortunate because when pronounced correctly, it is a beautiful word name with beautiful meaning. Pronounced ([name]Po[/name]-Eh-See-[name]Ah[/name]) Means- poetry…totally love that, but it depends on where you live to know if people will largely pronounce it correctly. If anything, if you want to still use it, your baby girl will have to be a strong character to carry the name throughout junior high and high school, AND she’ll have to defend the name.

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone! Would it be more wearable if it had the nn [name]Posie[/name]/[name]Posey[/name]? Does that even work?

I’ve also thought about this word as a potential name (I speak Spanish) but was afraid it would be pronounced po-EH-see-ah or [name]PO[/name]-see-ah rather than po-eh-SEE-ah. Pretty sound, spelling and meaning though. [name]Posy[/name] makes a great nn.

I dont see the teasing potential here except you might have prn issues but here are some audio links for you to listen to

I actually love it! I admit that it would have its share of problems (maybe more than it’s worth), but I do love it regardless! I also adore the nn [name]Posey[/name]!

My first thought was to say po-[name]ASIA[/name], then po-EH-see-uh, and now I see both of those are wrong. So, yes, maybe some prn issues.
