I have always felt that [name]Sylvie[/name] is more of a nickname than a name unto itself (ie short for [name]Sylvia[/name]). But I know many others do not feel this way.

I love [name]Sylvie[/name], and it sounds lovely with [name]Robby[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]! However, I think [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is far too dull next to [name]Violet[/name], mostly because [name]Rose[/name] is seen as such a filler middle name. What about:

[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Rosa[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jasmine[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name]

Awesome, glad u guys think it goes well in my sib set :). I like sylvie better than [name]Sylvia[/name]. To me sylvie is a more distinct version of [name]Sophie[/name]. I can see how it can be perceive a’s nicknamey but it is a stand alone name in [name]France[/name]. So I think it works!

I agree, with the mn rose it’s blah blah boring. [name]How[/name] do you pronounce primrose? That’s cute. [name]Marigold[/name] is nice too. What about sylvie clover? [name]Sylvie[/name] iris is cute. Oh and I reall like sylvie dahlia. [name]Dahlia[/name] is a name high up on my list as well.

Lovable easy sylvie is to say!! I can see it on a teen and an adult as well. Sounds artsy to me and chic

[name]Sylvie[/name] is the French version of [name]Sylvia[/name] (Sp and It [name]Silvia[/name]). So it is a legitimate name, not just a nn. Also, it means forest/woods/nature, so it goes perfectly well with [name]Violet[/name] in terms of a theme. I like [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Rose[/name], and I don’t see [name]Rose[/name] as necessarily a “filler” name. It’s very French. I also like [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name].

See my sig for my feelings on [name]Sylvie[/name].

Cool, love ur name choice! ;). And I was just worried that it was to v heavy with big sis violet and also sylvie has the same ending sound as [name]Robby[/name]. BUT I still think it goes well and sounds pretty good together. So glad u berries agree!

So is the proper spelling sylvie? Not [name]Silvie[/name]. That doesn’t look right to me

[name]Sylvie[/name] rose is nice. So I’ll keep that on my list. [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is also really pretty. Or maybe sylvie [name]Amelia[/name] or sylvie [name]Annabel[/name]? [name]Sylvie[/name] means woods and forest right? Plus I relate it to the color silver. So might not have to go with a flower middle. Although it would eleviate some worry with future jealousy between sisters. Haha

So is the proper spelling sylvie? Not Silvie. That doesn’t look right to me

[name]Silvie[/name] is the (still legit) Spanish version of the name. I like them both, myself, but my husband is strongly pro-Y.

I actually love the way [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Sylvie[/name] sound together. [name]Robby[/name], too.

I like [name]Sylvia[/name] better than [name]Sylvie[/name] but i still like it. I think it goes very nicely with violet and [name]Robby[/name] too.

[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name]! I couldn’t think of a better suggestion for a middle! These two together really have the classy wow factor for me. Although they seem simple, they are very elegant. This is so much more beautiful than [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Rose[/name]–the flow is better and I personally view [name]Rose[/name] as a filler name.

Cool, glad to hear that u like sylvie with my sib set. Im digging it too! [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is gorgeous. I love it’s simplicity yet wow factor all at the same time. I also like sylvie amelia and sylvie annabel. But [name]Claire[/name] is my fab. It’s a name that packs a punch. [name]Just[/name] hope there wont be any jealousy if I have another girl and name her sylvie [name]Claire[/name] and she’s upset that she doesn’t get a pretty flower connection. Hmmm

I agree that [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is awesome, but since the flower thing is still bugging you, I thought I would look for nature-ish middle names that are also one syllable, to get the same effect as [name]Claire[/name]. Not all of them are flower related, some are actually names of trees, but I think that would fit because [name]Sylvie[/name] reminds me of “[name]Sylvan[/name]” which means “forest.”

[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Fern[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Clove[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Fig[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Plum[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] Flax (maybe too similar to flax seeds, which reminds me of health food…not that that’s a bad thing)
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Heath[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Ash[/name] (also thought of [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Elm[/name] but don’t like the way it flows)
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Birch[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Lark[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Rue[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Thyme[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Sage[/name] (I love alliteration, but depending on your taste this might be too cutesy)
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Lace[/name] ([name]Queen[/name] [name]Anne[/name]'s [name]Lace[/name])
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Quince[/name]

All in all, imo the best ones from this list are [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Lark[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Quince[/name], and [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Fern[/name].

[name]Sylvie[/name] fern and sylvie lark are really pretty! Thanks u for those suggestions. :). [name]Sylvie[/name] sage is also very cute. I think m fav is still [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] though. Ok, so with that first name she gets the silver association. Good! And it means woods/forest. Very good. Maybe that’s enough to match with her big sis.

I love [name]Sylvie[/name]! I’m with you on not liking [name]Sylvia[/name] as much and I love both the French and forest/woods reference. If you’re from Pennsylvania it also has that reference thing going, too. I like [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name], but I like your other potential first names better for middles - [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Adele[/name] in particular. I love [name]Dahlia[/name] as well, though saying it confuses me as though I accidentally said [name]Sylvia[/name] Dahl instead of [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Dahlia[/name] - if that makes sense.

Some other flowery middle suggestions for good measure -

[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Plum[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Flora[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Azalea[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Petal[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Lavender[/name] (kind of matches with [name]Violet[/name] as well)
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Saffron[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Zinnia[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Linnea[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Laurel[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps!

I think [name]Sylvie[/name] is perfectly lovely. Suits a toddler, teen & an adult equally well! I have [name]Sylvie[/name] on my possibles list as well, and think [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Plum[/name] is absolutely gorgeous. [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is pretty but I hear Silv- eclair a bit when I say it.

Actually, [name]Sylvie[/name] is the “correct” spelling for the French version; [name]Sylvia[/name] for the English version, [name]Silvia[/name] for Spanish and Italian, although the Spanish has the acute accent on the first “i”. (Can’t get my laptop to do the accents again.)

[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] Francoise
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Diane[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Rachelle[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Gisele[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Helene[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Pascale[/name]

Some other rather French suggestions.

So pleased to see that u guys like the name sylvie! I think its going to become more popular. [name]Just[/name] hope it doesn’t become the next [name]Sophie[/name] ;). Either way though, I love this name.

My fav combo right now is [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Adele[/name]. I love both names and love how they sound together. Plus they’re both French :). Too bad our last name isn’t French. haha. Eh, it’s ok though.

Another name I like is [name]Eloise[/name]. But I like how easy and simple the name sylvie is. However I think it would be a great name to use in my sib set if we have have a third little girl! Haha

I realize that its very hard to keep with a theme. And then u end up with a name u don’t love. I think sylvie is perfect

I have a crush on [name]Sylvie[/name] too, and the full name [name]Sylvana[/name].
[name]Robby[/name], [name]Violet[/name] & [name]Sylvie[/name] is a cute & well-balanced sib set.

[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Adele[/name] is lovely. Also like:
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Plum[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Emerald[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jude[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Salem[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] Mireau
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]

I don’t know about [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Adele[/name]… it sounds like [name]Sylvia[/name] [name]Dell[/name]. :?

Oh ur right! I never realized that before. Thank u sooo much for pointing that out. So sylvie [name]Adele[/name] and sylvie [name]Claire[/name] are out. Soo my fav right now is [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. That doesn’t sound too similiar to [name]Mary[/name] [name]Jane[/name] does it? Also my other kids both have mn that are three syllables and start with an A. Maybe sylvie [name]Juliet[/name] would work?
