How would you instinctively pronounce Isa? I am really loving it at the moment but with the pronunciation of eye-za and I’m wondering how many people would actually pronounce it like that
my instinctive pronunciation is ee-sa, since that’s how Mirabel said it in Encanto! eye-za doesn’t feel intuitive to me
ee-suh would be my instinctive pronunciation

I have a cousin who uses it as nickname, also pronounced as ee-sa!
i know an isa (short for isabel though she never uses her full name) pronounced ee-sa so i struggle to see it differently ! eye-za is lovely though. maybe iza ?

When I saw the title, I thought “ee-sa” but I did have a friend [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] who went by [name_u]Isa[/name_u] “iz-uh” so that makes sense to me as well. I don’t think I’d get to eye-za unfortunately.

For me it depends. If it’s an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking country I’d probably say EYE, if it’s in my country then EE is the way to go.
I say it like ee-sa because of: 1) beginning of names like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] 2) [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] in Arabic
