For me I think boy… For a girl I would prefer [name]Rowena[/name]
To me [name]Rowan[/name] is a boy’s name. My friends just had a little baby boy and named him [name]Rowan[/name].
I would say a boy - much stronger as a boy’s name.
I only like [name]Rowan[/name] for girls…its fine for a boy but spell it different like [name]Roan[/name] or [name]Rohan[/name]…its just too girly
I prefer it on a girl, but I like it very much on a boy as well. I feel hurt when people say it is only a boy name.
It has been used as a unisex name in [name]North[/name] American for almost 10 years now, and it is one of my most favorite names.
In my head, [name]Rowan[/name] is a name for a boy. I just can’t see a girl named [name]Rowan[/name] very well. But…I dunno. It’s not one of my favorite boy’s names, and I like it even less for a girl. So the name is just “meh” to me no matter what.
I know it’s traditionally a boys name, but I know 1 of each gender. So I really see it as more of a unisex name. I will say, however, that since the first one I met was a girl, so I would probably lean more towards girl initially.
I love the name but I always thought of it as a boy’s name and I hated it when [name]Brooke[/name] Shields first named her daughter it. I now see it as a unisex name but I still prefer it for a boy. I would name a son this but I would probably spell it [name]Rohan[/name] now, instead of [name]Rowan[/name].
