I definitely donā€™t think itā€™s too out-there, the sound is simple and mostly familiar, but itā€™s the kind of name where I would wonder about the origin & how it was chosen? It would make me think that itā€™s either a name from the parent(s)ā€™ culture that Iā€™m not familiar with, or that it was probably chosen because it sounds ā€˜coolā€™. Also, Iā€™m not sure how prevalent of a reference this is in other cultures, but it did make me think of the chatacter [name_m]Zorro[/name_m] right away.

It has a very fantasy/sci-fi aesthetic to me. I think I have heard of [name_m]Zorro[/name_m] the character so seeing Zoro did feel like a character name but I honestly couldnā€™t place it without having to search [name_m]Zorro[/name_m] first lol

It also feels sort of like a nickname style name. Like I could see it as a nickname for a [name_m]Zoren[/name_m], [name_m]Zorian[/name_m] or [name_m]Zorion[/name_m] if I didnā€™t know Zoro was the full name

That said I think it has a very cool vibe to it, and if I came across someone named Zoro I wouldnā€™t judge them or anything negative, but I would be so curious as to how they got their name!

@chelsia @tallemaja thanks for your thoughts! I do know of the legend of [name_m]Zorro[/name_m] character, but my husband actually loves it because of Roranoa Zoro from the anime One Piece. I personally donā€™t care about the associations since theyā€™re not obviously bad or offensive, but I just canā€™t decide if it feels like a real name. I may have to think more about [name_m]Zorian[/name_m] or [name_m]Zoren[/name_m]- I was kind of hoping I could find a longer form and I like these a lot.

I had to look both of them up. I think I have heard of the [name_m]Legend[/name_m] of [name_m]Zorro[/name_m] but Iā€™ve never seen the movie, and I havenā€™t heard of One Piece before

They definitely arenā€™t bad associations like you said! And if you guys have positive associations to the name personally then I think it is more of a reason to use it

[name_m]Zoren[/name_m] and [name_m]Zorian[/name_m] are definitely great options to give Zoro as a nickname! They feel like a more modern take on names like [name_m]Soren[/name_m] and [name_m]Dorian[/name_m] to me. Those are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head but if you really do want a longer name I think either are great or you could always look up ā€œnames starting with Zorā€ and Iā€™m sure you could find other options if these arenā€™t quite right for you!

Iā€™m glad I could help out
