I have yet to come across that name, but I’m guessing it’s a surname at the very least. Surnames as first names are “in” these days.
I like it. It reminds me of [name_m]Halvdan[/name_m] (“half [name_u]Dane[/name_u]”) and Halvfinn (“half Finnish”) and I adore those names.
I think people would mishear it to be [name_m]Holden[/name_m].

I love [name_u]Alden[/name_u] and [name_m]Holden[/name_m] is great. But I don’t like [name_m]Halden[/name_m] at all.
I agree with [name_f]Signe[/name_f].

Would [name_m]Halden[/name_m] rhyme with [name_u]Alden[/name_u] or sound like the nn [name_m]Hal[/name_m] + den? Would you use the nn [name_m]Hal[/name_m]?
I seems a bit clunky to me, and kind of stuffy.
