I want a name like [name]Bryn[/name] (ie: not too popular, sort of preppy) for our daughter, but for some reason, something is keeping me from going with [name]Bryn[/name] (or [name]Brynn[/name]). Any thoughts on not too popular, simple but interesting names? Everyone on this site is so much better than me at names! I want it to be kind of girly…
My friend’s name is [name]Brynne[/name], spelled this way. I think it looks much prettier, but the pronunciation stays the same. She always gets lots of compliments on it.
Maybe you’re turned off of [name]Bryn[/name] because, since it’s the name that you think of when you think of the style that you’re trying to capture, it seems like too obvious of a choice to you? I like [name]Bryn[/name], and funnily enough I went to school with one who very much fit the image that you’re describing.
I think that all of the suggestions you’ve been given so far have been perfect. A few more …
I have a friend who named her daughter [name]Brynna[/name]. Very similar, girly, seems to fit well with your style. There are also the alternate spellings, [name]Brinna[/name] or [name]Brenna[/name]. What about [name]Brielle[/name]? It seems to be gaining more popularity(-ish. Not sure how popular it actually is…), and has a similar style/feel to [name]Bryn[/name]/[name]Brynn[/name].
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] nm [name]Win[/name]/[name]Wynn[/name]- I really like this one. So quirky!
[name]Janie[/name]/[name]Gracie[/name]- the -ie ending adds something to these (I’m sorry to say) boring names
[name]Freya[/name]-popular in the UK
[name]Nicola[/name]- (nick-ah-la)
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name]- or [name]Georgiana[/name]
[name]Alfreda[/name] nm [name]Alfie[/name]
[name]Ellison[/name]- If you like [name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Britt[/name]/[name]Brett[/name]- definitely more interesting than [name]Brittany[/name]
[name]Annie[/name]
Thanks everyone.
i love ALL these ideas. I already have an [name]Elizabeth[/name], so [name]Eliza[/name] is out. I love [name]Maeve[/name], but my husband’s best friend just had a [name]Maeve[/name]. I also love [name]Kate[/name] but that is my half-sister’s name (she is 1, like my daughter, so I can’t do that).
I love all these ideas: [name]Eve[/name], [name]Tess[/name], etc.
Thanks! If you think of any more, please post them here. I don’t think we’ll choose until we have this kiddo.
What about [name]Briony[/name]? Personally [name]Bryn[/name] is nms but I still think its a very nice usable name! I imagine it on a sophisticated and sweet girl.
