Priscilla

A girl I was a friend with when I was a kid found me on fb few days ago so I found out she has two daughters [name]Shannon[/name] and [name]Priscilla[/name].
What do you guys think of naming a baby girl [name]Priscilla[/name]? To me, it sounds odd and a bit old-fashioned at the same time it makes me think of Presleys. I want to hear your opinions.
Girl’s MN is [name]Leigh[/name].

It’s funny you are asking about [name]Priscilla[/name].

I am at the age when my girlfriends and I are all having babies. [name]Just[/name] for fun the other day I did a quick tally up and guess what? [name]Priscilla[/name] is the top name!

I know 4 little [name]Priscilla[/name]'s. The runner up is [name]Annabelle[/name] and I know 2. Looks like my circle of friends love that name.

So I’d say it’s definitely not old-fashioned anymore.

I wouldn’t personally use it, but plenty of names that were popular back when [name]Priscilla[/name] was are making a comeback. [name]Priscilla[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] sounds odd to me because the names sort of run together, but how often do they get said together anyway. [name]One[/name] thing that would make me wary of [name]Priscilla[/name] if it were on my radar is the potential for “[name]Prissy[/name]” as a nickname.

I like tons of old fashioned names but [name]Priscilla[/name] isn’t one of them. I don’t like it because none of the sounds appeal to me…priss or sill or silla all sound somewhat unpleasant to me. Prissiness as a quality is something I wouldn’t want my kid to possess so I think that’s another reason I can’t get into it. Also too long / no nn.

I read a book with a lovely character with this name a few years ago, so I have good associations with the name.
She went by [name]Prisca[/name] as a nickname. I thought it was beautiful. I don’t like the nn [name]Prissy[/name] though :frowning:
