this may be a long post. Thanks for your patience. Ok so TTC baby 3 in a few months time.
Already thinking of baby names and we will be going with Lawrence with the NN Lawrie for a boy. Mostly we will be calling him Lawrie.
My dilemma is the middle name spot. Anything we come up with sounds either like one big surname ( as we have used Lawrence which is also a surname) we prefer this version and it’s sticking.
Or the middle name we like just doesn’t seem quite right??
Here are our middle names and I’ve done pros/cons
-
Lawrence Arlo
Pros
Arlo would be honouring me and my name. It’s literally the middle letters or my name. I think it has a nice flow.
Cons
What is really putting me off is the fact that the name just feels too made up for us? Like it’s not really a name lol? And there is no clear meaning or history of the name which is important to us. -
Lawrence Ivar
Pros
Ivar is Scandinavian so honours my partner’s ancestry. I think Ivar is so handsome and unexpected.
Cons
A lot of my respected close family members really don’t like the name. They think of Ivar the boneless Viking. ( I thought he was quite interesting myself) -
Lawrence Jude
Pros
It has the best flow. It’s classy and handsome.
Cons
It’s expected safe option perhaps not very exciting? -
Lawrence Rex
Pros
Rex has a fantastic meaning. Both names are Latin and I love the Latin names.
Cons
Is Lawrence and Rex just too stylistically different? I e classy and trendy? -
Lawrence Fraser
Pros
Fraser again is honouring partners Scottish/Scandinavian roots. It is also warm and friendly.
Cons
Both Lawrence and Fraser are surnames and just sound way too surnamey.
We do like shorter middle name spots.
George and Theo are out of the question as they are our other boys MN.
At the moment I’m very drawn to Lawrence Ivar… Despite being affected by people’s reception to the name.
As you can see I am probably over thinking and driving myself and everyone else crazy lol.
Help.
Thanks for reading this far, if you have made it haha.
Oh and our surname is m@ckenzïe so you can have an idea of full name.
