[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_u]Dione[/name_u]? I’m guessing there is an -ee sound on the end because I would pronounce [name_f]Ione[/name_f] that way. So is it dye-oh-nee or dee-oh-nee?

I’d pronounce it as dee-AWN.
I would also pronounce it DEE-awn, basically the same as Dion.
Sidenote, I only know one Ione, but she pronounces it I-OWN
I’d pronounce it die-OH-nee although after looking it up it seems the “proper” pronunciation is dee-OH-nee.
I guess maybe that would depend upon the language?
The last name [name_m]Dion[/name_m] or [name_f]Dionne[/name_f], well, it’s dee-YAHN, as in, [name_f]Celine[/name_f] [name_m]Dion[/name_m].
[name_u]Dione[/name_u] I’m not so sure about, though. Possibly it could be pronounced dee-YOH-nay. What language origin is it?
I would go for Dye-oh-nee or [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-oh-nee too, although from my knowledge of other similar names, I’d think the latter is more accurate, but the former more likely to be said in English speaking places, but don’t hold me to that. I definitely think the E is an ‘EE’ sound at the end.
I’m basing this off names like [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] being said Her-my-oh-nee, when I think the original is Her-mee-oh-nee, though HP had a big influence there. Or [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] --> Ee-ann-thee, again I think more accurate, but many would probably say Eye-ann-thee or [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] --> A-ree-add-nee, where the I seems to be the only bit of the pronunciation that’s actually constant haha. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] that makes sense even if going through my thought processes probably made it more confusing!
I’d probably say [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-oh-nee just because I prefer the sound, and I’d like to be accurate of that is the case.
I know 4 ladies with various spellings of [name_m]Dion[/name_m]/dione/[name_f]Dionne[/name_f] and they all pronounce it the same. [name_f]DEE[/name_f]- awn. Like [name_f]Celine[/name_f] dion.
